So...Who wants to bet that one of the HRTs, presumably Karthikeyan, won't make the grid?

I'm staying up for first practice despite already feeling pretty wrecked! Also, don't forget the chat room this weekend!

Stephen's been beavering away and it's working again. It might pop up an error message in a dialog window, but just click OK, it works fine after that.

Seems Massa's having some trouble in P1. I saw him go off a couple times. Hope he can sort it all out on time for Sunday, I really would like to see Massa do well this year even though I'm not a Ferrari fan.

I thought you were going to bed WB?

The Ferrari front wing with the Japanese flag and text was discussed in the chat during P1. The Japanese text says "Forza Giappone". Link to the full article here.

One of the ways Ferrari was supposedly sandbagging was reported in the Ferrari members forum back when testing was underway. It's now come out in a public interview from Felipe. Basically that they never ran low fuel and soft tyres in combination.

Here's the quote from Felipe's interview :-
"Talking about the performance it is very difficult to say because we never on low fuel at the same time and soft tyres at the same time."

Full article here.

Times after P1 today don't tell us much IMO 1:26's are just too far off the mark. I'd expect that we can pay attention to 1:24's.

Charlie Whiting has come out and said that MRW will not be allowed to be used by any driver during the event (includes q and race) if the car is fitted with intermediate or wet tyres.

"Any driver using the adjustable bodywork whilst the car is fitted with intermediate or wet-weather tyres will be reported to the stewards as being in breach of Article 2.3 of the Technical Regulations (dangerous construction)."

Button on top

Sure, Red Bull and Ferrari probably sandbagging, but nice to see JB up there. And McLaren clearly not off the pace. And they got 61 laps in between them.

Oddly the rule is being enforced differently. In P2, when one car was fitted with the Inters, all cars had the Active Rear Wing disabled.

I got up to go to the gym, saw live practice was on and that was the end of the gym. Macca at the top. How nice :):)
