All the Liverpool fans gone quiet???

I'm a Liverpool supporter and frankly Liverpool have been playing total :censored: They can't even beat Birmingham, but at least we beat Manchester United, that'll keep me happy!

I find it funny how they are doing so poo, but loved it when they beat scum

I tend to think it's Benitez' fault as he tends to always have an eye on Europe sacrificing league form, but this year Liverpool have been poo in Europe and Domestic leagues.

Liverpool have been crap (relative to their standards) for years, it's just that the odd cup trophy and heroics of their top players have papered over the cracks. Now that Gerrard and Torres have been injured it's exposed their squad completely - without those two players i doubt they're even good enough for a UEFA cup place in the league...

p.s. RIP Robert Enke - poor bloke. :(

That said; it doesn't help when you have owners that are constantly bickering and never really have an iron budget to operate within... Ever since Tom Hicks and George Gillett took control at Anfield, Liverpool have gone backwards and also football is massively different game since the inception of the Premiership; the teams with the most money get the titles, e.g. Chelsea and Manchester United, Liverpool don't have the luxury of spending £200m on strikers. Not that I am making excuses; Liverpool have been poor!

Liverpool apart from Man City have spent the most money over the last couple of years.Add the fact that Benitez has bought over 70 players (think it's 73) since he's been at the club, surely that is a big enough budget?.

In my view he has just wasted too much money on nearly men,and not enough on good players. He's even bought about 6 players that have never even ended up playing.

Oooh, we're playing Brazil tonight! How did that one get by me?

Is this a good Brazilian side? If so, it'll be the first big test England's had since Capello took charge :scratchchin:

We have played Spain and Holland recently  Them and the Brazilians are arguably the best three nations in world football at the moment.

Yes they're a good side. Not far off full strength,we on the other hand have about 17 of our first 23 players out injured.Think there was two of the first choice eleven starting.

Looking at the game we're getting a lesson :(

wouldn't call hollland a big team nowdays, spain defo.

But anyway the game - sigh, the defence I thought was solid generally, but it seems inevitable that they'll be a lasp.

Midfield - good defensivly, barry is really good at holding and can pass the ball tidley. Now it seen why cappello values beckham so much, jenas was terriable. The midfield kept on losing possion, bad passsing, no one moving around etc.

The wingers were too inexperienced and only knew how to play one way it seemed,

rooney was good, making chances - good first touch getting into space actually turning on the ball etc. Bent was rubbish,

But I think a full strength englang squad has a pretty decent shot I'd say, we've seen creativity and movement from the likes of gerrad which allows rooney and defo to concentrate more on attacking.

But once england let in a goal, they just fall apart, the players just don't seem to have the ability to handle the pressure, the first half was good defensively, until they lost it.

Italy played Holland. Finished 0-0. First half Holland played better and second half Italy played better so was a fair result for both sides. In the real games that counted, Anelka of France fluked a goal against Ireland and gave the French a crucial 1 nil away goal lead. A pity because I want Ireland to qualify. Russia bet Slovenia 2-1 but at least Slovenija has an away goal which means 1-0 at Maribor will see the Slovenes qualify. Now how nice would that be. And how much nicer would it be if they are put in Italy's group just so I can watch Italy beat them. :hehe: Portuagal bet Bosna i Hercegovina 1-0 and Greece versus Ukraine finished 0-0. New Zealand qualified by beating Bahrain 1-0 in the return leg. Very lucky given the Bahrains missed a penalty. Had the penalty not been missed, a 1-1 score would of seen Bahrain qualify on away goals. As for England. A strong side they have. Very strong in fact. This is way I know like many others that the English lost on purpose to the Ukraine simply to make sure Croatia didn't make the playoffs. English cheats! Strong team or not, I hope the get nowhere in South Africa 2010. :D

Oh I doubt that, we're genuinely just rubbish. We always under perform. :(

dunno about the ukranie game - i diddn't see it! :irked:

Anyway, I thought about the brazil game a bit more, and I think we shouldn't read to much into it (genuinely, I'm no fanboy) as so many players were out, it was just to give players with an outside chance to make the squad a chance to prove themselves. So, they played in their positions, rather than being about team bonding and working out good tactics to actually use.
