What's Ryry's personality got to do with anything? And his age? And how he looks? let's stick to arguing the point.

Your perception of the forum being pro Hamilton is probably arrived at Because Hamilton supporters on here( and on Twitter, and on the Merc Facebook page and on other forums) won't just shut up and lie down when Hamilton is unfairly attacked. Why? Because we've had practise ever since he first joined F1 at defending him against :bs: ( we don't like his dad, he's only doing well because he's in a McLaren, he's spoilt, anyone could do what he does, he makes mistakes all the time, he's sulky, he's arrogant, he's favoured, he cant focus, he's thick, he can't save tyres, he can't think through a race, he won't be able to petrol save, he's only interested in music, he's a waster, he doesn't work with the mechanics, he can't set the car up, he's distracted by his dogs, he's distracted by his friends, he just wants to party, we don't like his clothes, his girlfriends a whore, she's bad for him, we don't like his earrings, etc etc etc)

When we pick that sh!t up on the radar we home in. Maybe we go in too hard? Maybe we are over defensive? but it comes as I say from years of practise. We support Lewis and will always defend against the unfair things that are said.

You know what I think Roth? I believe you when you say you like Hamilton but wanted to point out things you felt about him. That's your opinion and that's fine ( I disagree but that's fine too) . I then think that in defending your stance against the backlash, you went too far and backed yourself into a corner, a corner that isn't really of your choosing and doesn't really represent your position. Just my thoughts there.

It's gone beyond just defending Hamilton here though, it's coming out as attacks on Nico and Mercedes now. I'm a fan of Lewis and not Nico but don't think much of some of the things being said. I don't really see anything wrong with Nico asking when he's going to be let past after the team had told him Lewis would do that, however, I think it should have dawned on him by the end of the race and it's not something he should've gone on about in the interviews and his video blog. As for Mercedes, unless people think they're risking his life by messing with his brakes and fuel lines I don't see any reason to suspect any favouritism on their part, considering the failures he's had and some mistakes of his own making he's in a pretty good position in the championship where he wouldn't be without a combination of some amazing driving and full support from the team.

I don't think it's gone beyond defending Hamilton in this forum. On twitter and the Merc Facebook, agreed. I don't think merc sabotage Lewis' car, that's a mad claim, and I can't think of one person on here whose claimed that( they have on the net, though, loud and clear) .
My only claim of 'defending' is against accusations against Hamilton, and in doing that , yes, perhaps comparisons with Rosberg are made. And the team orders thing.......That as I've said before was a PR disaster. I don't think it was deliberate to favour Rosberg, they just didn't think things through. But they've now got themselves in a big mess with a lot of answering to do.

I'm not saying it's you RC and maybe I've just been reading between the lines of some posts but I've had the feeling that some have thought there's been favouritism going on in favour of Nico when in my opinion all there is to go on is a stupid mistake by merc to give that order and some failures that would be pretty serious criminal offences if there was anything deliberate about them.

My 2p on this. Hamilton fans defend Hamilton no more than Vettel fans defend Vettel or Ferrari fans defend Ferrari. All fans who are fans will defend their driver. Thats life, and I see NOTHING wrong with that.

Its understandable in the circumstances if a couple of the more excitable fans have overreacted, thats human nature, barbecues get burnt, people get too many tattoos, people do overreact after a period of the other extreme. As RC says its 100x more reasoned on here than out there.
Its understandable after a period of been told by 'default Nico fans' that he is a mental giant with perfect performance, that starting from pole and getting beaten from the pit lane in the same car will get dissected and replayed over and over and over again.

I think everyone here has been reasonable toward Nico and merc beyond pointing out the obvious, so there have been a few comments a couple of standard deviations away from the majority of reasonable ones, but sh!t does happen

Agreed RC. I don't think it's something Mercedes did/does intentionally and frankly, they would have to give me real cause to believe that to be the case. What I think they are a tad guilty of is not covering the details on Lewis' car to ensure it is reliable and equally as up to snuff as the other car. He's had some other issues that fortunately didn't cause the car to break down but you have to wonder...things like the fuel pressure and overheating electronics beneath his backside, both at the Hungaroring alone. The American saying, "The devil is in the details" rings true here. That team really needs to focus on the details cause they are starting to create real questions in the minds of many about a one-sided allegiance.

Oh, such fun!

I think Eva Braun didn't die in that bunker she went off to Brazil and had the fuhrer's son that's now secretly working for Mercedes and who's only task is to find ways to sabotage Lewis' car so that it breaks, preferably during the race, but if that's not possible, then make it so it doesn't last through qualifying.

You Americans may think this is funny;

During the Berlin 1936 Olympics and contrary to popular belief, Hitler shook Jesse Owens hand after a race and congratulated him. At that same time Roosevelt refused to be in the same room with blacks let alone shake his hand. And Jesse Owens actually said he felt more relaxed there than he did back home in bumf*ck alabama or wherever he was from.
And here is another story I heard - it was Roosevelts wife that forced him to allow blacks into combat roles instead of auxiliaries like drivers and stretcher bearers

I am not in anyway saying Hitler had any reedeming features or any humanity but I am sure Roosevelt wasnt a bundle of laughs either, but then he was of German origin :scratchchin:

You don't have to go back to 1936... half of the old white guys in congress today are likely no different.

And in one of the many rants against Merc on Facebook there was a guy saying ' come to Haas mate, we don't discriminate there!' What a complicated world we live in!
