Some of you don't like wine???? :yikes:

Next you lot will be telling me you don't like a nice fine Scottish single malt....

I do like (red) wine.
But re. single malt: I'm more of an absinthe person :drink:

Be careful asking for wine on the west coast, they call buckfast wine over there.

Laphroaig :cloud9: (especially quarter cask)
Amazing! The first time I poured it into a glass, I was reminded of a box of bandaids. It gradually levelled off to smokiness. Matter of fact, there was a huge fire at a building down the street yesterday. I likened the smell in the air to a whiff of Laphroaig! When this settles down in the glass, I cannot imagine a smoother, more refined whisky. It just blows me away, how something that smells at times like a dirty ashtray, can be so satisfying. I have tried a few single malts, but nothing comes close to this. When I roll it around in my mouth, I feel like I am in Heaven! For a malt with such an intense beginning, the palate and finish are each a paradox!I could do on and on about the marvels of this single malt. Magical! Marvelous! Miraculous!

And as for absinthe, not for me after the last time.

It's not as mind blowing, odd and downright wrong as an F1 fan that doesn't get excited by Spa.

Only one person in this thread is actually averse to wine, it seems (andrew).

And as for Spa, only one person has said they aren't as thrilled by Spa as others (LRW). I only said that Monza happens to be my favourite of all.

Just to clarify matters :D

As long as we're clarifying matters Andrew does like Bernie so there are things about F1 he enjoys.

Yeah, Bernie is an ugly THING!

Wine is better with the right accompaniment. Beer on the other hand is fine just as is. I prefer wine.

For me it used to be either wine/hard liquor or GTFO. When I'm at a drinking party and everyone are at it with the Tigers, Carlsbergs, I'll be helping myself to either a red label or the 'alcohol milkshakes' you know, the baileys and stuff. Only lately have I been warming up to beers, but I still can't exactly look forward to drinking beers. Just wasn't born with those taste buds I guess.

And, bar Scotty, no-one has come up with a reason why they do like Spa!!

:sheep:

I like it because it's an old school track, I like it because there is history, I like it because it is fast, I like it because it is woodsy, and I have a fondness for those types of track settings. I like it because it has nothing to do with Tilke. I like it because it is a drivers track that calls for balls in some turns and having to defend your position at multiple points in the circuit because you CAN pass at multiple points in the circuit.

I like Eau Rouge and the nature of the circuit, twists and turns through what looks like a forest. As foresty as it comes anyway...since the old Hockenheim was King until they decapitated it.

Apart from that, I'm waiting to see the day when they think of running F1 cars in Spa reversed...that will be the day F1 is reborn. :D
