Ah, I was worried for a moment there, but the bbc tells me his fastest lap was in the dry. I'd love a wet race though - I think it should be compulsory for all the races, they should water the track artificially if need be.
Poor chandock: After his short-lived debut at Bahrain, Karun Chandhok's Hispania had to be pushed back to the pit lane by the marshals after a suspected gearbox failure left it stranded on the track.
Pual di Rista did well, he looks talented and I'm sure Force India agree as their giving him Friday sessions: Force India reserve driver Paul di Resta, who drove the session in place of regular driver Adrian Sutil, was a creditable 11th on his Formula 1 race-weekend debut, one place ahead of Schumacher's Mercedes.
Good one Vaptin. Personally I think Webbers redbull came out tops. He posted his time in the rain and most probably would have demoted both the mclarens if it was dry.
Spot on...
I think the McLaren took advantage of a good time to prove they can do good...but it was an average time i bet!! Kubica uno? That is just proof that they have took advantage.....Plus it does there sponsors a little good to prove there worth
and racechick .
Mr.Hammy did it all for RC
http://www.itv-f1.com/news_article.aspx?id=48043Jenson Button admitted that his positions in Friday practice had been aided by a relatively light fuel load - but still expects to be much faster in Australia than he was in Bahrain.
Having had a quiet run to seventh place at Sakhir, the world champion was third in practice one and second behind McLaren team-mate Lewis Hamilton in the afternoon today.
"I'm reasonably pleased with the balance and it's just got better throughout the day," Button said.
"I've been happy since lap one this morning.
"It's only Friday, and we may be lighter than some of the quick cars out there, but tomorrow we'll see where we actually stand.
"Nevertheless, it's important for us to find a good balance and get a good feeling with the car."
He reckons he could have gone quicker still but for traffic.
"Every time I've tried to put a good lap in on a new set of tyres, I've hit traffic. But we'll make the best of it for tomorrow," Button said.
"For qualifying, the car should feel better than it did in Bahrain: it feels like we have the correct downforce level for this circuit."
Team boss Martin Whitmarsh agreed that today's results were no reason to start celebrating yet, but that McLaren seemed stronger than it had been in round one.
"We're not about to get carried away by Jenson's and Lewis's positions on today's timesheet, although of course it's always gratifying to see your two drivers finish first and second on any day in any conditions," he said.
"Having said that, we're pretty confident that we'll be more competitive here in Australia than we were in Bahrain."
