I reckon Ferrari pushed the contract forward in fear of Renault making Alonso a race winning car in 2010. I would have liked Alonso to stay at Renault just one more year.

You know you point out an interesting trend...when he went to McLaren "Spygate" broke out along with the whole infighting that was going on. He goes back to Renault and after a little more than a year and a half the whole Flavio cheating thing breaks out. I hope this doesn't follow him to Ferrari.

I think Ferrari will be pretty secure, they have a long tradition of only employing well respected tactics within the team.
