the wii is good and everything but i cant help thinking im gonna wanna use a proper controller after a while..

The Wii Version supports:

Wii Remote in Wii Steering Wheel Shell
Wii Remote held sideways like an NES Pad
Wii Remote and Nunchuck
Wii Classic Controller
Logitech Racing Wheel

what defines a proper controller? the motion plus is there to overcome a lot of the precision problems that people complained about with wii being oversimplified. And the movement actually makes the gaming more imersive, bear in mind what a traditional joystick and pad are capable off - side to side and backtofront, with the joystick providing a rotation. The wii controller has a full 360 range.

Not quite if you turn it more than 90 degrees it starts getting messed up and think your turning the other way, it's more like 180

yeh, gonna have to buy a classic or wheel/ or just use the analog stick on the nunchuck. the motion control just sucks after a while as it gets inaccurate like sometimes on mario kart wii.

Proper controller= xbox/ps3 controller
proper games= xbox/ps3 :)

looking at that bomb page (hopfully that won't trigger some government alert), it says a wheel will be provided with the wii version.

anyway I don't really want to turn this into a wii vs ps3/xbox discussion.

You're damn right it says that, I specifically remember writing it (And most of the rest of that page  ). The wheel looks pretty good in the pictures they've shown off.

The wii controller has a full 360 range.

That's a software issue, the hardware is fully capable of supporting 360 rotation very precisely, it's just nobody programs the software to allow it because you can't let go of the wheel to turn it a full rotation and it doesn't self-centre, so there's no need for more than 180 degrees to be accounted for.

No GameCube controller? Bah, looks I'l have to get the dust off the Classic Controller, never been used since about 2 weeks after launch, the GC controller is much nicer.

And only LAN play on PSP? I'd of liked to see WiFi. :/

Oh yeah just a question but you know how like yearly games always come down to about £10 when the respective season ends, doesnt that mean we only have to wait a week and this should be in the bargain bin?

Nah, it'd take a while longer than that.

The game MIGHT support GameCube Controllers, but I haven't heard nything on it.

it'd probably drop in price when the 2010 version comes along for the pc, xbox and ps3

Yeah, it will definitely drop then, if not before that - it'll probably drop in price after Christmas and keep going down from there.

The XBox 360 has been out for too long to not have an F1 game. At least whilst we're waiting there's Forza 2, GRID and RacePro to keep me happy... and Forza 3 which is coming soon.
