The timers been resetting for the last several hours. Maybe its a gullibility meter, someones counting how many people will sit and watch a countdown timer they know is going to keep resetting itself indefinitely?
I've been able to piece the press conference together from a half dozen clips here and there and while interesting there isn't really any substantially noteworthy news beyond the fact that this is a serious bid for 2010. Lots of drivers names mentioned, AJ, Danica, Marco, Graham, but no one solidified. they did say they would ideally like to have American drivers but might settle for one existing driver for the experience element. A recurrent theme was the theory that current F1 teams waste enormous sums of money working inefficiently and that these guys, USF1, can do it for a fraction of what teams have been historically been paying by working smarter. Peter let one mention slip of having some sort of location in Europe although the cars would definitely be built in the US. Also, wind tunnel facilities wont be a problem as the supposedly "best wind tunnel in the world" is right there where USF1 is based. They also mentioned that , especially in this economy, labor and facilities costs are significantly lower in the US as compared to Europe. Apparently they have no engine deal yet but feel confident that they'll be able to get customer engines form a current F1 Mfg.
sorry, the more i read about it, the more it turms my stomach.
I hope its a massive flop and they never make the grid...go A1 racing if they want that jingoistic nonsence...it has no place in Formula one.
