Have you expressed your concern's about his driving/racing tactic's with the official's?? I would definitely speak with them about your concern's with that driver before the next race as it seem's they only have eye's for you so they miss all of his misdead's.

From what you have said about the official's are you sure Max is not one of them?

Nothing ever gets done..

Anyways... might not be contending the rest of it anyway... Dad said we might not be racing for the rest of the season :(

If you can win this next race that will give you alot more chance's of finding a sponsor who could atleast help finance the rest of the season. I would be very disheartened if you could not atleast finish the season.

When I was in karting, I got to the point in the end that I asked every local company for sponsorship (Even the local chippy) in the end a local Ceramic Tile company sponsored me, some financial help, and gave me some room in there store room to keeps parts etc.. Sponsorship does not always come in money forms. Whore sticker space out like it is going out of fashion.

I hope you finish the rest of the season mate.

Hard luck Sam, I'm sure like Hamilton you will bounce back like he's famously done during his karting days.

Well, good news is I will be competing in the 3rd round, and I need to try and get back to winning ways and hopefully he will have a bad day. This really is like a double header, a win is worth two in this situation.

I will be testing at Larkhall this weekend as a run out before the big event the following week. More than anything it is to check the kart over and to build up some confidence on my part going into the next round, as I still feel quite low about the last race... But you just got to keep focused and move on :)

Finally made my way into the newspaper :)

This was taken from the local paper in Golspie (Where Round 1 of the Scottish Championships were held).

http://www.northern-times.co.uk/news/fullstory.php/aid/3827/New_format_confuses_commentator.html

Craig Finlayson from Invergordon snatched pole for race one in the Junior Rotax, but had to settle for second place in the race itself, the win going to Sam Moffatt with fastest lap. Moffatt cleaned up on the day, winning all four races with fastest laps. In the final, Finlayson took second place, Rachel Murray, Invergordon, was third and a well-deserved fourth spot went to novice Jack Sutherland from Golspie.

Yes, they spelt my name wrong :wink:

Well I have just found contact details for the richest local businessman in town :)

Best thing is he lives about 3 minutes from my school which is very respected so I think this could be my best chance yet, and he takes a great interest in sport :)

As for the karting? Well funding is our problem again. My Grandad has now retired so I think next year we will be racing once a month at selected events, unless the businessman will sponsor us, in which case we plan to attack the British championships :P

Next race is next weekend, 3rd round of the A.S.K.C Scottish Championships. I really should win it but it's anyone's guess, I was testing yesterday and was about 8 tenths off the pace, but then again... 8 tenths off from the 3rd best in Britain.. :|

That sounds like great news about the richest businessman in your town. Perhaps he might be able to fix your funding problem. :)

Sam use that contact very wisely and it may very well be your 'gold mind' so to speak. Remember it is a business transaction at first so present to him all your ducument's, reciept's and projected cost analysist when/if you get to meet with him. Yet dont represent yourself, at this point which is jmho, as fully 100% business. An investor must see the determination and love for the sport from you the driver as well so just be yourself as your result's ontrack speak for themself. Oh and one last thing do take an initial NO as his final answer, he want's to see how determined and commited you are to your goal.

Yep, I aim to contact him on Monday morning!

Before that though, I have the 3rd round of the Scottish Championships this weekend. I believe that it will be a big meeting, so it could very well play into my hands. I need to get some space between myself and the championship leader so I can regain the championship lead, and calm the nerves a little.

If we are one of the fastest on Saturday, then I don't think we are going to do qualifying or the first 2 heats. We believe that I can start last in the pre-final and finish in the top 3. From 3rd on the grid in the final I can definately be up there and contending for the win.

Last time I was at this track, I flipped it though.. So a few early quick lap times will settle my nerves a bit :)

Wish me luck!
