The drivers love it. I'd love to be driven round it in two sweater f1 car with Lewis driving. It may not be as fast as other tracks but it would FEEL faster. Ride of your life that would be!

Given Monaco's history of Pole sitter wins, Merc may have a strong strong chance here :)

It'll be a bit like getting stuck behind a JCB on a country road with no opportunity to pass. The JCB's slower but it's going to get there first. :hehe:

The strategy will be the most intriguing here. I reckon Mercs best bet is to pretend falling off the pace after 5-6 laps (just when nearing the window) and then hope at least 3-4 top team cars rush into the pits to take advantage and then Merc push on for another 3-4 laps and come into the pits...then back out in front again, repeat for next stint giving them a larger pit window for the final pitstop compared to the others. Very tough to keep the lead even in Monaco, unless their tyre issues are nothing like it was in Barcelona.

What size sweater is it? Or is it more of a cardigan?

Or get Lewis to hold back so that nico gets a good lead for the 1st few laps

Well yeah, that could work too. They might need an agreement here, first out of the first corner gets No.1 status for Monaco.

You do know Nico has driven more laps around Monaco than Lewis has? Not to mention he beat Lewis here last year...though McLaren played their usual part in f**king Lewis up a bit on the way.

I can see Merc being strong in qualifying. But even at Monaco, it's still going to be tough if they're struggling on long-run pace. Even if a train starts forming, faster cars will most likely get ahead at the pit-stops.

It is popular knowledge that Monaco is known to be much kinder to tyres...probably one of the least abrasive circuits due to the speeds they travel at. Teams are more worried about gearboxes rather than tyres here.
