Discuss the sport you love with other motorsport fans

As he drives for the team that I am supporting at this time, I suppose I should be a little more pro but, well, he has not earned it and unless he does something soon, I suspect that he will move on from Mclaren when his contract expires this year.

I am curious to know what he'd have to do to "earn" your support

My support? Well, I believe that drivers have more responsibility than only winning. They are, in effect, ambassadors for the sport and their teams, and IMHO Lewis is very poor in that regard. Perhaps age will mellow him but he does seem rather spoilt to me. As to his driving, well, he is aggressive to a fault, even towards his own team mate. But on that point I must admit to looking forward to him and Massa thumping each other with baseball bats at every opportunity. That he is a talented driver is IMHO unquestionable; that he needs to tame that talent, well, that is moot.

So you're either using a very warped yardstick or you're your bias is showing and I'll keep that in mind when I read more of your opinions should you decide to stick around.

Bias... hmmm, what is bias but an opinion. As I hope that I have demonstrated my opinion is not simple "anti lewis propaganda" but it is at this time negatively charged towards him (despite him driving for the team that I support). I sincerely hope that he gets to grip with himself and does well...

That's excellent. I'm a big proponent of everyone being allowed their opinion no matter how we may disagree with it. I am on the other hand very much against opinions being passed off as facts and your expectations confused me as to which was being presented as which. Now we know.

Why would you have an Official Hamilton Support Thread?

Becase the person who opened the thread decided to call it that

Anyway, back to Lewis, after working with his engineers they've discovered a small clutch problem on his car which will be rectified for the next race. He is much more upbeat now he knows the reason for his loss of pace and poor start on Sunday.

That's good, hopefully we'll get a 1-2. Button first of course, my fantasy team NEEDS IT. :p

Screw your fantasy team!!! And lightning can't strike twice.

Very witty... so as the mods find it acceptable to selectively address a prior post, I believe the die is cast...

It's a saying. Never heard of it before?

Simply saying Button outperforming Lewis twice in a row is impossible.

Oh yes, I have heard it before, but it is one of those sayings that is actually not based upon fact (example attached http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roy_Sullivan,) hence my question.

And like the example, I suspect that we can look forward to Lewis being tanked 7 times in a row if Wiki is anything to go by... :D

After the Melbourne showing, Button fans can be excused for living on the moon right now...since drives like that from Button are as rare as me getting the Dengue fever. :)

Malaysia should get you guys packing up again and travelling back to Earth. :D

All y'alls are gonna be mad when webber wins wdc 2012

yes, I did just say "all y'alls" :D

Just won a game on Codemasters ay? :D:D

J/k, Webbo winning the WDC wouldn't be far fetched if he carried on from Melbourne.

Mind you, it was once said that Button could get the better of Hamilton once in a while, but not over the course of a season. Before that it was also once said that Button could only win over Hamilton in the same car in changeable conditions due to good fortune.

Button does have a fair chance at least.

Lewis on whether he resigns for McLaren -"My decision will be based on more than just the car. When you make a decision on your future it's the whole package." What a telling statement!!

And Coulthards thoughts on the situation-"Of course, we only know what Mclaren tell us. There might be another story going on within the team that we dont now about that explains the pace gap between the two. Look at Lewis' face on the podium and in interviews; he wasnt happy to finnish third, but was that because he lost second in the stops, or becuse Jenson beat him? we just dont know"

Not just mad Racechick speculating any more.
