I look tiny comapred to Shani Although if I was much bigger I'd be taller than a lot of guys in my heels and that's just not on.

Certainly did! Three times in fact, stayed at the lodge twice (2001 and 2004) and did a heli trip out there, I have fond memories of the place ... being mugged by a skua, robbed by a caracara, walking up to within a couple of metres of huge bull elephant seals, almost being ambushed by a bull sea lion and watching orcas harass a southern right whale ... what a place!

I watched them from the shore at around 5:00am, it was the first time I'd ever seen whales and a pod of 7 orcas came swimming past and then this right whale appeared ... it was twice the size of the orcas but they were nudging it with their heads and he didn't like it one bit, slapping its tail and blowing like a geyser. I confess I jumped up and down squealing like a girlie with excitement .

I know what you mean. it is hard to describe stuff like that. it scared the poo out of me the size of the Elephant Seals and how fast they moved

I wasn't too worried about the elephant seals, I managed to get some pretty close up photos of them, my reasoning was that I could out-run them if they turned nasty (and they never did). The sea lions on the other hand were a different matter, bull sea lions are notoriously aggressive, they may only be a fifth of the weight of a full grown elephant seal but they can out run a man over a short distance. I never managed to take any close up shots of the sea lions, I tried sneaking behind a dune and creeping up to photograph a huge bull sea lion, only to discover he had sneaked round the dune too and was coming up behind me ... I have never run so fast in my life!
