It's one way of looking at it, certainly not how i see it. He fronted the media to make sure his point of view was put immediately and to try to recoup the damage form the radio comments and having a go at Perez.
And as I said before, short memories if you've forgotten the crap that fell out over Lewis week after week after week after week. Rules the same for everyone whoever the driver whoever the poster. Analyse the driver/ team all you like but don't have a go at that drivers/teams supporters.

But it seems like you're using that as an excuse to be able to get away with bashing Button constantly. Just because people bashed Hamilton doesn't mean that you can get away with your constant opinions of Button's character.

No. You've missed the point entirely. I give my views on Button because its how I feel about him, it's nothing to do with the Hamilton bashing. When the Hamilton bashing was at its height I was ambivalent towards Button , there's no correlation. The reason I gave the example of Hamilton is because when drivers are in the spotlight and there Are aspects of them that some people think are great and other people think are bad, then heated discussions will ensue. When it happened with Hamilton it was all over all the threads, bash, bash , bash. But there was no censorship on people's opinions and neither should there be now.

"Get away with bashing Button"? Do you mean I should not be allowed to express my views on him? My opinions Are my opinions and I am allowed to express them. So long as I do it civilly and with respect to people who think differently.

do you know what it all reminds me off, (I am not mentioning or singling people out here) but the whole Mclaren/Hamilton split is like a divorce. Mclaren and Lewis I am sure want to move on from it all. However as it was such a public split millions of people around the world are like the mates of each side with the "What a bitch" style comments. Jenson in all this is almost Mclarens adulterous affair. What everyone needs to do is just let it go and move on. If you think Mclaren and Button deserve each other then so be it. If you dislike Hamilton over how everything unfolded then so be it.

Mclaren and Hamilton have moved on maybe it is time that the worlds F1 fans move on as well.

Personally I think Buttons saw a team mate struggling and came to help him in that interview.

It was all going according to plan until they asked him why he'd run Checo off the road.

 priceless...
It was the heat of the moment when Jenson squeezed Sergio off the track. At least, he is a good teacher.(Checo did the same to Alonso).
But he had such a cool nice-guy character, until that point in the interview, and that question stumped him :hehe:

It was one of the highlights of the weekend for me. Its always good to see a driver squirm under difficult questions... :hehe:

I think credit definitely needs to be given to JB for coming on though, and making himself available for the TVs. If the drivers didnt do this sort of thing we'd have nothing to dissect..

The fascinating aspect about this whole thing is that Jenson has a threefold problem with Checo. He's not as experienced, he's not as good, and he's desperate to prove himself. Not that the same thing wouldn't have happened with Lewis, they 'raced' on many occasions. It just wouldn't have been the mess it was.

Sunday, Checo looked more like Maldonado than Checo and the scary thing is thy IT WORKED! He got the breakthrough result of the year to date so I don't think he'll feel the need to change a thing.

Things will be fine until the next time they find themselves in the same situation.

Jenson and Lewis raced side-by-side, wheel-to-wheel, many a time during their spell at McLaren (I don't ever recall that happening with Heikki Kovalainen). And they ALWAYS kept it clean. It was good to see, and great for the fans all over the world.

Apart from that slight bit of contact at Bahrain with Jenson's rear tyre, to escape without major damage after such a prolonged period of fighting is a big testament to the skill of both McLaren's drivers.

No doubt the guy is quick witted and charismatic behind a microphone to the point of feeling very much at ease. After he retires from F1, he could be your next Prime Minister should he choose to get into politics.

Nah, he's still not hated enough to be our PM.

I'd actually quite like him to start Co presenting.
