Didn't Montezemolo say he doesn't want 2 roosters in his hen house?? What's this talk about Vettel and Ferrari then...did he suddenly lose his rooster capabilities and become a hen? Or has Montezemolo seen hen-like characteristics in Alonso starting to pop out and decided he'd need a rooster soon?

A rooster with balls of steel!

To be honest I think it's just The BBC speculating, and hoping they are on a role after the Hamilton reveal.

Nah, they've been writing about this one for ages, before Hamilton.

Hmm. Interesting.

Resigned? You mean he's quitting? Not renewing his contract? Giving up his position in the team?

[vlad]

Glad to see he's staying there!

[andrew]

Why? The guy is a disaster. he was s*** in his first attempt and he is s*** in his current attempt at F1. He should go to NASCAR.

[Jabberwocky]

Didn't Lotus' option on Grosjean expire yesterday?

Notice how emphatic Luca D. was about not having two roosters in the hen house. I think everyone missed the underlying message here...Alonso is calling it a career at the end of 2014. Vettel comes in along with whoever the #2 flavor of the month is at that time. Go see the bookies now!

I'm just saying...

oooo, clever thought! Though why would Alonso pack in? no kids or special woman, not enough titles....

Blah blah you know what I meant. He has got another year's contract.

(I've totally confused myself now with how to spell. Resigned? Resigned?)

I've been caught out with exactly the same issue. My spelling is crap but I resolved it thus
Resigned- left job
Re-signed- signed to stay in job longer

He does have a woman, and probably aiming for just 1 more title before calling it quits. I think 3 titles is the standard for the top drivers, since the 'greatest of them all' had 3 before passing.
