There may be alittle hope left for a few of you but I wonder if you actually understand how you portray yourself here, I don't think you do so far  .

Careful Tex, you're no Angel

Never said I was honey but I portray myself 99.99% of the time better than some do  . As mentioned by the team it would be nice if we tried to get along more without all the inner turmoil. Just my thoughts so please don't take them as a personal attack ok :) ?!?!

A lot of different implementation of the movable rear wing, I love it. I hope it's one of the year's big car differentiators... even if there's a big question mark as to how it will actually work out in real world racing.

I've got a question... will it be allowed during qualifying?

In the real world with two cars it's very cut and dry and it's been discussed here in nauseating detail. But how about when there's a train of cars, 4 or 5? a strategy that may encourage a driver not to be the first one to pass because the person behind you will then engage their button and pass you, it may make for very interesting racing when multiple cars are involved. Or a driver that gets to use it twice in the same train in the same stretch.

I don't think so, no.

edit: scrap that, i am not sure where i got that idea -

Even if you find a good setting for qualifying, when you can use the wing as much as you want, you also need to find a good compromise for the race, when its use is restricted.

From this interview.

Tell you what, we have a very real prospect of seeing qualifying lap records broken this season.

I'm so interested to see what the cars will hit on the longest pieces of straight tarmac this year. I'm guessing above 225mph?

well if that really works out to have a compromise between a good setting for quali and the race it brings back those strategy calls. Particularly if this rear wing aids overtaking.

So it's fair to say that the speed difference will be the delta in having a car configured for your vanilla GP circuit and Monza? Since the movable rear wing will in effect temporarily equate to a wing you see there?

@work

That's the Sauber C30 correct?

EDIT: poked around some of the pictures on line and yeah that is the Sauber... I didn't recognize it without all the stickers. :hehe:

 silly question...........is there any chance of the RW flying off??

If the HRT gets on track - yes

On the question of it's use during an event, it is only restricted during the race, not during qualifying.

Lucas di Grassi on the new wing:-
" It will be good for overtaking obviously, but besides the aerodynamic performance there is another consequence. You can use the adjustable win g in qualifying,so the car will be set up to hit the limiter in seventh gear at the end of the fastest sraight. that means when you come up behind a car in the race, you wont just bounce of the limiter and can gain a speed advantae when the wings open. So that will engineer in more advantage from the tow, as the cars with closed slots won't be topping out without compromising their qualifying. Alos how you use the wing in qualifying will make some difference, even if its only a few hundredths of a second on the staights, because of a slight difference in when you activate it. I'm against generating artificial overtaking. A pass should be like a goal i football, not a score in basketball, and shoul be a big reward for the driver"

The wing can be used without restriction in practice and qualifying.

That is my entire point about this ridiculous 'rule'. The only thing I'm not looking forward to in 2011.
