Vettel fans should just sit back, gloat and sip martinis while chuckling away at us Alonso fans who are still tearing our hair out wondering how it all went so wrong

"someone that kept you behind for a half a GP" you're meant to overtake if you want to get past, its a race.

You never complained when he let Lewis past in Hungary. That was a race also....

"Did Petrov keep Alonso behind fair and square? how come he didnt do the same when he had Lewis behind in Hungary?" cant remember, but maybe lewis can overtake

Well, he couldnt overtake in Abu Dhabi; and neither could Webber, Massa, Alonso....... in the same track. Doesnt mean neither are unable to overtake, just that in that track, its pretty difficult. When you add that a SC lottery, and some guys fighting for a championship with others far from it mixed inbetween.... you come up with guys able to "hold someone behind for half a GP" with a bit different merit than ussual. Specially when another one of the mixed-ins made it pretty easy for a car with the same name to get by....

Life's tough in the fast lane. If you cant stand the heat..........
It was hard to overtake, Tilke's fault. But actually Lewis did overtake (Kobi) and others overtook too.

Correct. In fairness, though, part of Alonso's inability to overtake was down to the fact that the Renault was the fastest car in a straight line thanks to their F-duct, which they definitely got right this season.

He wasn't right to do what he did, but I agree its been done to death now. What more is there to be said?

Mhm.

Might as well move onto to the overtaking part, Todt got it right, as usual, Hamilton pitted for new tyres and should've been 2 seconds faster than Kubica, but he still couldn't overtake.

I'll refer you back to Denthul's comments about the Renault straight line speed :wink:But if the track was decent that could have been overcome.

Exactly, the problem was the track, indeed that was what Todt was saying.

Yes undoubtably the track was grim. But it was grim for everyone. the only thing that made the race exciting was the title. Bin it. Along with Valencia, Bahrain, Catalunya. And thats before I really start thinking.
