I'm just imagining at Abu Dhabi when Rocky will say the following to Vettel:

"Webber... is... faster... than... you. Can you confirm you understand this message?" Vettel moves over, and Webber theoretically wins the title. But then the FIA disqualify Red Bull from both championships and hand both titles to Ferrari...
:wavey:

That would be a farcical end to the season; because it would be referred to the WMSC and Red Bull will argue the same as Ferrari and it would have to be overturned, Red Bull would officially been crowned champions some time in January! if it wasn't overturned; that would conclusively prove that the FIA are Ferrari puppets... :hehe:

A surpising comment coming from a Ferrari antagonist. How are things over in area 51 BTW? You managed to fill that tunnel in from Roswell to the grassy knoll in Dallas? :hehe:

If the teams want to be secretive about team orders, all they need is a pre-arranged key phrase. "You are X seconds ahead of Webber, and you are free to race", which has been pre-arranged to mean move aside.

Alonso will cinch WDC at Brazil if:

1) He wins and Webber comes no higher than fifth ...

or

2) He comes second, Webber comes no higher than eighth, and neither Vettel nor Hambone wins ...

or

3) Alonso comes third, Webber comes no higher than tenth, Lewis comes no higher than fifth and Vettel does not finish on the podium.

I dont see the issue at all. They can simply use the exact same words Ferrari used and then defend themselves in the press conference, and pay a fine of 120000 for 'breaking rules'. If they have to pay even a dollar more, this sport would become the biggest farce of all time.

Wasn't it $100,000 for Ferrari? Why the mark up of 20% for Red Bull?

Ferrari will count that the best-spent $100,000 in the history of the company if Fernando wins WDC.

I trust those who bemoaned Ferrari's scurrilous tactics so early in the season now can see the method to their madness. Absent that tactic, Alonso's lead now would be same as the difference between coming third and coming fourth instead of more than the span between winning and coming second. And Massa, nearly 100 points back, has proved he never stood a chance anyway.

If Webber looses by less than 14 points you can put it down to a great call by Ferrari in Germany and, as good as their call in Germany was, an equally crazy non-call by RBR in Japan.

I just keep hoping if Alonso wins its by less than 7

To answer the title thread.....CHEAT  And hope the FIA are as lenient with you as they were with Ferrari and Alonso.
#222725
The FIA have been consistently lenient with team orders, every team on the grid knew that, every team on the grid knows team orders never went away, they all had the decision to break it or not, they didn't. And it wasn't because morally they didn't want to break the rules.

To beat Fernando in 2010? Have a reliable car, handle the pressure. The other two teams have failed on those two, Fernando's not their becuase he has the quickest car. He's there becuase the Mclaren's have had a couple of race incidents, Vettel bottled quali in Singapore, Webber crashed out in Korea, the Mclaren's (car) cope badly with safety cars, Vettel's engine broke down . . .

Of course Fernando could still crack on those two fronts, he could run out of engines, or see the red mist again.

Consistently lenient? What do you mean? Ferrari have been the only team to be up on team order charges.

Well according to FIA technically, McLaren did too. That is why they allowed the Fezz to get away with it.

Yes, but they haven't been the only team to use team orders, they just made it obvious.

Im joining this thread a bit late but... I would bet RedBull really need to focus on Webber if they want to ge the drivers championship this season. Either that or Alonso has much bad luck and/or a DNF.

I dont get why the talk is now, red bull must favour webber for a hope in securing the title, correct me if im wrong but red bull have had 1-2 on the grid for about 14 races this year? Why is brazil and abu dhabi going to be any different, alonso has iirc a 10 point lead over webber, and if webber finishes 1st and second in the next two, and alonso finishes say second and third, doesnt webber win, this isnt to mention the fact that a mclaren (probably lewis to be fair) could easily get infront of alonso in the next tworace qualifying(s ?) alonso is the most calm guy under pressure ive ever seen in my f1 watching time and the fact that hes coming out in interviews saying tis far from over with only two races left and ten points and momentum on webber shows that he knows he hasnt got an easy ride by any means, even two more podiums might not see him win the title. Just sayin we shouldnt all give up on this years championship, look how quickly lewis was leading and then not, then webber and alonso, infact jenson and vettel too, i think this has to go down to abu dhabi and there are four drivers still in it i think.

I think if Alonso is third, and its a redbull 1-2 in the last two races with Vettel leading them, Alonso gets the WDC?

Yep, but if Webber wins one of those 1-2's then he wins the WDC.
If Alonso's has a 6th and a win in the last two races he wins the WDC no matter what anyone else does.
