i seen a clip on the bbc formula1 gossip page, and there is a link on there that takes you to james allen's f1, and its quoted on there that the red bull wing will pass despite the new stringent load tests, to be honest i didnt think that the wing was illegal and it would be a sour way for Mclaren to win the drivers or constructors ( thats what i would love to happen :) ) if the wing was decided to be illgeal, i would much prefer to see the mclarens winning on the race track rather than a test

See my post above:
From here, e.g.
Do you actually read the threads in which you post?

i must admit i didnt read all of it until now, it was only a clip like i say, from the bbc f1 page, so it doesnt give you the whole story, but it will be intresting to see what happens when those new tests are introduced.

Now there's speculation the wing isn't flexing, the whole nose is drooping. And the floor might be flexing to allow it, all the way to the rear of the tub, which rises to increase the volume affected by the diffuser. Vettel's broken nose at Silverstone had something to do with inspiring this speculation.

The wing is flapping that's clear to see, whether there's something else at play remains to be seen but in all likelihood, it's going to be the simplest explanation that suits the visual evidence, not the most complex one.

So that explains this?

Newey obviously designed the old wing to the test. To think he will not be able to adapt/redesign to the new test is to believe the FIA bureaucrats are smarter than he.

Figure the odds.

If it is a case of them engineering some sort of progressive deflection into the wing then it all depends on how extreme a curve (graphwise) they can make while maintaining the strength of the wing as to whether the new test can be beaten.

So these new tests; do they apply to everyone or just Red Bull (and Ferrari)? I'd find it funny it for example McLaren failed the new test after being the principle complainer about the Red Bull wing!

I'd thought it be a given that the test would be for all the teams, although I'm now remember this is the FIA.

asking if the tests apply to everyone or just redbull and ferrari is a question a 10 year old would ask realy,
Its kind of a dumb question to be honest.
You put redbulls front wing into a wind tunnel it will fail,
People cant be looking at the same vidios im looking at to show the movement of the wing,
Its blatantly moving and breaking the rules knowingly done by red bull,
It amazes me they can so easly get away with it.
Its on tape for god sake, what more convincing do the fia require.
It dont realy need to be tested its allready proven it moves more than 10 mm hence there breaking the rules.
Stupid rule book is broken,

Do you need to see a aliens ID card to proove his from outer space or is the fact his in a flying sauser good enough proof ?
The fia would ask for a id card i think.

Damn, my secret is out, I am 10 (+23)...

It was meant to be a comedy question but given the FIA's stupidity in recent history, I wouldn't put anything past them!

It passed the statuary test so it is legal!!! I think it is a case that the test is not stringent enough.

Maybe the FIA should learn from the whole thing and change their tests randomly to stop people building things to pass the test and not the spirit of the rules
