As all the helmets are pre-imputted helmets. Are the sponsor able to go on the helmets? McLaren - Vodafone logo on the top rim?

I imagine the helmets will be exactly as seen in the sport unless a particular sponsor objects to it.

Also, for those interested, here's the final Codemasters Developer Diary for the game. Career mode is looking quite interesting, particularly the interaction with the media. I'm in two minds about the setup aspects though; on one hand, it's good that you only have to fine-tune rather than work on the whole setup from scratch and that will appeal to the people that just want to race, but on the other hand some really like playing with the setup and this might not be such a good thing for them.

Additionally, this is actually using the 2010 cars unlike previous ones which had the 2009 models in. Looking good so far I'd say, I really can not wait for the game to be released. :D

What I mean is, In career mode, yeah?
Once you have chosen your pre-made helmet from a selection, if you go to Virgin/McLaren will you get the sponsors on your helmet like this

Okay, played with it for a couple hours tonight (and by it, I don't mean my willy).

First impressions were not favourable. My G25 wasn't recognized and on easiest setting the game is terribly difficult. Started a career in a Lotus and got my bottom handed to me on track at Bahrain.

Downloaded drivers for my G25, and now it is recognized. But it won't let me change the mapping. So I will need to play with this a little more. I wan't my look back button where the change camera button is.

Started a Grand Prix this time (played Monza, hell yeah) as Jenson Button. My McLaren was faster than everything on track and I found out how to turn the assists off, which meant I wasn't fighting the car so much and it wasn't slowing by itself when it thought I was off the racing line.

Practice was good, I was able to pull out the fastest time on Prime slicks. Switched to the options and was a little slower (to be expected at Monza).

Quali saw an 85 percent chance of showers. As Eddie Jordan always touts, I got a banker lap in on the primes, just as the rain started to come down. Out qualified everyone else who went out on inters by a second or two. Then I just sat in the pits in 30X time watching the rain get harder and nobody getting closer to my time.

Race was 30% chance of showers, but of course when the raceday loaded it was pissing down rain and the green stripe rain tires were on the car. I got a good start and led the race for a couple laps until I spun by running over the curb and not getting out of the throttle enough. Retstarted the race and was spun at turn 1 by Webber in his Red Bull when he tapped me. Continued to have problems in the race. I am thinking that the visual, sound and force feedback for locked up tires isn't giving my brain the signal.

In any case, I gave up on a wet Monza. Just too challenging for newbie me.

The game is pretty, and runs well on my machine. It locks up a bit when you go to a track and load in (I assume it is loading the track and textures, cause my drive is going crazy) but it clears up after a minute or so... And you are in the garage so no worries.

Cars and tracks look good, I didn't like the sounds of the cars.

I highly recommend this game for anyone who likes F1. I think someone like DW with the patience to really put the time in and run it in simulation mode will totally love it.

Must be nice. I can't find a store within 100 miles (160 kilometers to the rest of the planet) that has a copy of the game. I'm more likely to find a liberal host on Fox News than to find a copy of F1 2010.

played it for a few hours today with a wheel on my pc, the first thing i noticed is that the handling is very good, its not over the top hard but with proper assists turned on / off ( make sure auto breaking is turned off, abs isn't that great aswell ) with the wheel i found it quite hard to control the snap of the car if i push it to hard around a medium speed corner or even slow ones tbh, but the practices are there so you can get used to the breaking zones ect ect, and i found myself as the session went on improving a decent rate i would say similar to a f1 practice alongside track performance. one major problem i have is that down force is represented in the game but really doesn't impact the way it would in real life, for example in the lotus i am very good on breaking and can easily outbreak someone going 1on1 into a chicane ect. What represents car performance is speed, straight line speed difference is VAST i would come out 4 or 5 car lengths ahead of Rosberg for example but he would be pushing for the overtake very quickly

i am a fairly keen gamer so i choose the hardest setting and while i found it challenging i also found it to be as close to a sim as your gona get without forking out the big ££.

qualy works well, the only issue is cars really don't get out of your way when on a flying lap, i didn't have problems in Bahrain i was lucky and i managed to put the lotus on the front row ( AMAZING I KNOW :D ) but in Melbourne i found that i would be super fast through sector 1 slower through sector 2 and even slower through sector 3, but constantly because of my speed difference in S1 i would be coming up rapidly on cars that weren't on a flyer and it would wreck my lap this happened so much so in Q2 that i didn't make it through to Q3 which going by my practice speed would have been a doodle, frustration aside it still works, you can just be very unlucky.

race day is race day line up start race. now there are a few problems that exist in that its just super hard to get a good start and even if it goes well it would seem like you are not geared correctly as after the first few shifts cars from behind come flying past. the penalty system is just crazy, while it works if you really DO cut the corners it also gets confused if you run wide but maintain speed or oversteer ect and either warns you or gives you a penalty, if dont know how it decides between a warning or penalty but i was given one for plaining off the road at the chicanes in melbourne, which i found to be stupidly frustrating and wasted my time in the game.

enough whining about the problems for now.

the weather system is AMAZING, graphically its stunning, it effects the cars far more than any racing game i have played before and seems to be very well implemented.

very realistic, have done alot of research have lived up to what you would expect from a proper f1 racing game done well.

the cars , drivers , infact the whole game looks a treat.

the racing is good, its not you at the front all the time but its not you at the back, overtaking works well, car damage is a little on the light side but wheels blow, wings fall off it works.

but most importantly its fun and delivers on the experience

ps sorry for long rambling post

Just spent the whole evening playing this on my PS3 240hz LED TV. Its vastly improved over the Championship Edition and much MUCH more difficult. Unlike Championship Edition, you can't drive around all session long during qualifying until you have drop your time, in 2010, you have only enough fuel for 3-5 laps to get it right then its into the pit for new tires/fuel which takes time off the clock. The weather is just awesome, it can be extremely wet in one corner and they dry in another and picking the right tires will play a major part, also you will need to pit for either prime or option tires. You think you have the perfect setup and then when you switch over to the other tires, its a nightmare. In Championship Edition, you can pick a slow team and yet still qualify p1 or win races, in 2010, they start you out in a slow team and you will fight hard just to beat HRT, Virgin, or Torro Rosso. Graphics is awesome, career mode is unlike anything I've played before with you doing interviews, meeting fans, everything an F1 driver goes through. The only thing I don't like is the damage engine, hitting a wall head on at 200mph and all you lose is your front wing but two cars coming into a corner at 40mph and tapping each other, parts are flying everywhere. Overall, best F1 game to date.

Amazon's Shipping Tracker says my copy was delivered this morning, so I'll pop down to the Office after Practice 1 and pick it up

First tried this using the dualshock and it's a little tricky with all driver aids off and easy to end up in a spin, I've now set up my DFGT wheel and it's fantastic but gonna take quite a bit of practice to get some decent times.

My wheel's not compatible, so I'm using the DualShock 3 ATM with a couple of assists (ABS, TC).

This game is freaking awesome. Looks great, handling is fun as all hell. Love it. After my first race for Lotus, I took my favourite driver to my best track. Yes, I piloted Jenson to victory at Melbourne :D

Firstly I'm a bit disappointed that the game is only 720p I'm pretty sure F1CE was 1080p? Secondly the graphics nor the physics blew me away as F1CE did to it's predessosor. Guess I'll have to wait fir the next gen consoles for that reaction again!

Just got this, seven laps in Bahrain in a Lotus and my best time is ~2:01. How's everyone else's times looking?

Have to say, I'm mighty impressed with the game so far, although still have the TC on (albeit at the lowest setting) just whilst I get used to it. I can see this being a lot of fun :D

Edit: I feel that I should add that Bahrain is even more disgusting to drive in this layout than it was to watch on TV. Just..ugh :hehe:
