Schumacher has basically said it's too close to call between the 'big 4' and i agree with him - i think the advantage will swing depending on the track. I know cynics may say Sauber are just running light to get sponsors but i'm sure they're not far off either.

I expect other teams to surprise regularly just like last season though! My dark horse tip is Toro Rosso, they had a great base for this year's car and have been able to fine tune it as they see fit rather than just getting Newey's designs, which were tailored to the Renault engine and such.

Naaah Dark horse has gotta be Sauber

Torro Ross could of been given Last years brawn at the start of 2009 they'd still mess it up.

The testing times are suggesting otherwise though! Like i say, now they can fine tune the car it might be a blessing in disguise.

Toro Rosso won't come forward unless they change their crap management no matter how good the car is.

Ferrari's rumoured new DDD package may be ready and on the car at Barcelona testing.

Wouldn't surprise me many of the top teams will bring big updates to Barcelona test.

I'm not sure I'd put the Ferrari top after the 1st Jerez test. They seemed very fast at Valencia but Valencia is unlike almost every track on the F1 calendar. If they are quick at Valencia but not Catalunya, it could be really bad news for them because the only track remotely like Valencia on the calendar (in terms of layout but not in terms of surface) is Hungary. Jerez isn't a lot better and tbh, Catalunya is the only one of the three test circuits used that is representative of the majority of the tracks used in the F1 season. The Ferrari didn't set any particularly fast times at Jerez and the Mercedes hasn't topped the boards at any test. They seem consistent on long runs though. My guess is on pace:

1.McLaren
2. Red Bull
3. Ferrari
4. Mercedes

although Newey's track record and the number of stoppages for mechanical reasons that come with the Red Bull casts a doubt over its reliability for me...

I think McLaren look the fastest at the moment. Ferrari were good in Valencia, but I think that may be a high point for them. McLaren seem to organise their testing well, and do well when it comes to the season. They've had moments of pace that worries me.

Indeed. Those guys are completely useless.

Why is everyone putting Mercedes higher up? They are pathetic this year.

1. Ferrari
2. McLaren
3. Williams
4. Sauber
5. Red Bull :(
6. Mercedes
7. Force India
8. Torro Rosso
9. Renault
10. Virgin

I think this is more accurate based on the testing times.

No list is accurate when it's based off of testing times.
