Look, we all know what's going to happn next year. McLaren is light years ahead of anyone else at this point. Lewis is going strap down his championship by the mid-point in the season and Buton is going to look silly.
That is a tad optimistic to say the least, we won't truly know who will be the best until at least testing starts or even Bahrain. Though I hope McLaren have done a really good job.

I find it odd that visiting McLaren's facilities is a breach of Contract. I mean, I can believe an F1 contract might have such a thing, but it seems like kind of an unfair rule since it inhibits the employee's ability to seek future employment. I mean, with the season over, how else was Jenson supposed to investigate the alternatives? And are we really to believe Nick Fry doesn't realise drivers don't negotiate with only one team at a time?

If it's true they pulled their better deal off the table over Jenson visiting Woking, that would appear to be a risky play to call his bluff. It didn't pay off.

I suppose Red Bull might make a small dent. But Ferrari is the pre-schumi Ferrari and can't get any thing right. Brawn spent the 2nd half just holding on; I doubt they reestablish themselves. McLaren has the best driver on the planet. They have the most resources short of Ferrari who just want to embarrass themselves at this point; they have the most experience and the finest tradition. The only thing Mclaren don't have is Ross Brawn. mcLaren will wrap it up early. If I'm not right I'll buy everyone drinks all night long at my place.

You got some inside information? Or you're just very condifent ;D

I believe it's going to be very very close next year. Mercedes, Ferrari and McLaren will all be up front. But let's not count out Red Bull just yet

This lad is for real, go to BBC Sports and article titled "Hamilton challenge excites Button" says it all. Jenson wants to be with a team with stability, race Lewis head to head with the same equipment for the challenge, and he didn't leave Brawn GP because of the money. ....sorry, I wasn't able to link article

maclaren have the finest tradition? And you can conclusively say they have the best driver on the planet? Ferrari want (I quote) to embrass themselves?
Dammit, I might as well take up alcohol for you. Stick around so you can hold to that.

When do you define early? I'll allow you to say it within limits (last two races isn't early)

By the tenth race it will virtually be over, not mathematically, but everyone will know. You know what I mean. Really, it is just confidence and the need to drink with race fans! :drink: It's the kind of bet where everyone wins! :cloud9:

Kkl then, although I'll probably be crying enough to drown anyway if that happens. How many races are there next year anyway?

The recriminations have started http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/141 ... -slip-away

That article is completely biased and opinionated. Sour grapes anyone?

Button is entitled to look and negotiate to go wherever he feels is best for him. This is a brave decision, but good on him! A driver who doesnt think he's the best might as well hang his hat up! Do you remember all the bullpoo from some people because Lewis looked elsewhere? It was all a bluff anyway to secure the mclaren F1 drive ( hes actually probably one of the most loyal drivers) but some people got their knickers in a twist. This is business, the drivers are free to negotiate what is best for them and the teams free to do the same.

Yes im happy for Mclaren...they only want whats best for the team...only natural but i think that they will become the Brawn of 2010 and will dominate the lot which isnt any fun for anyone even if u do support Mclaren...such as myself! With no refuling...not much stratagy will come into play either :/

I've read the article. I wasn't saying it was about money. I'm saying that Mercedes GP spitting the dummy may have solidified his decision to move.

My word...

Clash of

FERRARI (Alonso / Massa)

vs.

MCLAREN (Button / Hamilton)
so yes, 4 top of the top drivers...
2010 is going to be a crazy season

ps: I hope Vettel can do well in 2010, maybe as a 2010 champion

I'm also hoping to see at least one Red Bull driver and one Mercedes driver into the mix, and having 6 drivers capable to compete for podiums would be a real candy. Vettel is definitely there, given good car (and I do have faith in Newey to come up with good car, only question will be the engine). Nico, well, here's hoping for...
