Button and Hamilton - you couldn't find more different drivers. Looking forward on how they're going to build the car, pretty sure it will be like what Lewis wants.

Its already Built they showed a pic of it being assembled on twitter it was just the carbon chassis tho.

Its gonna be made for Lewis, without a doubt

I guess if the two Brits do end up at McLaren, it'll stop all the "Who's better, Jenson or Lewis?" threads! It'll certainly be an interesting watch, seeing which style of driving comes out on top, silky smooth or constantly on the ragged edge?

No it won't, because the situation isn't as equal as it appears. Jenson would be very much on the back foot.

I think weekend could be split into 2 halfs.

Qualifying - Lewis will do well

Race - Tyre management will come into force and Jenson will do well

Maybe, but that assumes that the car is going to be able to suit them both. That seems unlikely

I doubt it. Just look at 2007, Hamilton beat Alonso but opinions are still divided on who is better. 2008, Massa beat Raikkonen and opinions are still divided. The same goes for any season, we'll never all agree and I like it that way. :D

That remains to be seen; the car will obviously be designed towards Hamilton as JB probably wasn't even in the sights of McLaren when the car was designed but I would say that the drivers will be equal in car parts and engineers etc unless one under performs badly, but having two top drivers in your team can be bad as well as good as the two drivers will take points off each other maybe allowing a driver from another team to sneak in a take the WDC!

Who's the better driver will always be subjective but in the Alonso/Hamilton situation, the difference was one point; which is nothing in the context of 18 races; I would say that Alonso and Hamilton are of equal skill. If Jenson can beat or at least stay with Hamilton that'll put him up there with Alonso, which many will not like!

The team will be interested in the WCC but they will also like to claim the WDC as well; at which point do you put all your eggs in one basket to make sure of that?

I agree but not everyone will. You''ll hear arguments about one being a rookie, one having preferential treatment..etc. It's never clean cut. The fact is that you'll never get a consensus and the Hamilton/Button situation will be exactly the same. We're all far too opinionated :hehe:

but sharing of opinions is good as long as it is constructive

Agreed; if we weren't opinionated, this forum wouldn't be what it is; as long as we all play nicely it's great fun; I love the debate back and forth! :D
