Your remarks go a lot deeper. They are part of a web of misconceptions which, for some reason or other, exist about McLaren and its supporters. This is a forum for Formula One fans. If you are in the wrong, partly or fully, expect to be told.

But looking back at my original post, it was simply the expression of an opinion and was, I felt, quite obviously so. It can't therefore, be considered 'wrong' and as I've just explained, it was your choice to take offense.

I'm not offended, and I realise you were only giving your opinion. But just because it's your opinion does not mean it's necessarily correct. To make such extreme and sweeping statements, such as your comment that Dennis does not care about McLaren's heritage, is the stuff of nonsense. :bs:

I've always quite liked the March, couldn't tell you why...

The Leyton House sponsored cars built by Adrian Newey? Now those were beautiful, and set the benchmark for cars designed during the 3.5 Litre era. :cloud9:

Win. I love the shape of this car especially.

They had an old March/Leyton House (it had that livery) at Goodwood - they went for it up the hill, and got the fastest time! Seeing it go off the line at full pelt was incredible, it was too fast to even get a decent picture of it! :(:hehe:

Anyways, McLaren especially p*ss me off because they got rid of the badge and nationality, basically cutting all ties with the reason they came to exist in the first place. They might as well have just used a new name too.

Again you show your ignorance. The logo of which you speak was one of several used by Bruce McLaren alone, and it changed a number of times before Dennis became involved with McLaren. Moreover, the company's logo was never going to remain the same. How many sizeable companies do you of go through the period of time and changes which McLaren have done and are branded exactly the same? Very, very few. You are simply picking a fight where this is not one to be had. Just be honest: say you have an irrational, emotionally-driven hatred towards McLaren and Dennis.

That's rather an exaggeration don't you think? McLaren have traded in their heritage in order to become a more marketable corporate entity. If any team did this, I would be irritated. Just to make things clear, I think McLaren are alright and I think Ron Dennis is alright, their fans can be a bit defensive though.

mate you dont know what youre talking about so stfu

for example on my tour of the MTC they have with PRIDE Bruce McLarens first ever car he built with his dad, they only recently painstakingly hunted down from New Zealand. They had his Cam Am cars, the one were he died, they also had his First F1 car. And the word of the day was papaya orange. hmmm

And Bruce was a Kiwi yes but the company was founded in Britain not New Zealand.
