To be perfectly honest, Piquet's record in lower formula is rather strong, which makes it even more complexing why he hasn't performed better in Formula 1.

I don't think Piquet is great, not by a long-shot, but I definitely don't think he's as bad as he looks at Renault right now.

In comparison to other drivers his career is quite reasonable. Ok his name and his father's money has helped, but even so.

I also agree that he's not as bad as he seems.

We'll see how he performs in Hungary with the same car as Alonso that has been promised to him according to press reports, if he doesn't get close to Alonso then he needs to take a step back into a lower Formula and accept that's as good as he can achieve. Even his own father was hard on him when Speed TV talked to him earlier in the season!

Personally I am not in favour of teams ditching drivers mid-season throwing a young driver in the mix who will probably get swamped, what is this? FOOTBALL!!!

Sadly it slowly is becoming that because we are seeing more penalties dished out these days than a Premiership Football weekend.

Uh.

In GP2, he beat Hamilton on ten occasions, with Hamilton beating Piquet on eleven (and in the end, overall)...
