I actually like the way that Mosley is going about this. It's very, very smart and could prove to be very, very effective in getting what he wants ;)

Oh there is no denying that. Max Mosley is doing what he does best. Offering the biggest Carrot he can find!

By the time all the proposals have been put forward, nobody will be able to compete outside of the budget cap. I mean, McLaren, Ferrari, BMW Sauber, Renault and Toyota can spend £1billion in 2010, but lose out to Williams, Brawn, even Force India who only spend £40million. They would not want that.

Well Ferrari are furious, seems the FIA/Ferrari pact has well and truely been torn apart.
London on the 5th of May will be exhilarating

What's happening then?

is there anyway i can find the new rules for 2010 i know of 2 is that all there is aswell as the budget cap

Try the FIA website :)

Next FOTA meeting isn't it? or is that the 6th May?

Ahh. Well, there could be some harsh words said between teams. I think this is something that will really strain FOTA, with the teams seemingly split 50-50 on the matter, according to James Allen.

Well tomorrow we will get a lot of detail on how the budget cap is going to work I guess it will be around £40 million,

I called it first :D I'm surprised by that actually.

The capped teams aren't limited to testing and can run the engines as high as they please.

Clearly no one wants to be out of that tier. The capped teams are clearly running one hell of an advantage with the engines and testing. I think having two tiers is just rediculous. This is formula 1, emphasis on ONE. Not two, ONE formula please.

Ferrari are clearly not happy, and I'm sure they're not alone. To stay un-capped is not wise due to the performance loss. So they're forced to accept the budget-cap which they probably feel is still too low. The next few weeks will be interesting to say the least.

Capped teams get:-

Double the amount of KERS

Unrestricted engines & they can have 1 per race

&, incredibly, if they want 4 wheel drive (yes you read that correctly) they can have that too.

They will decimate the big spenders in terms of performance.

Thus all there will be no 2 tier system 'cos they will all be on the budget capped option.

Notable side effect?

All spending on this years cars stops, right now.

Might as well give Brawn the prizes no & cancel the rest of the season due to pig flu. Sava loada money like that.

I'm awaiting FOTAs response, I wouldn't be surprised if a break away is back on the agenda

So, which team do you reckon will be instigator of any proposed breakaway?

If there was going to be a break away attempt led by a team then I think it would be led by Ferrari.

Any of the manufacturers.

If Ferrari led a breakaway, that series would become the premiere series by default. I've never been a fan of any particular team but Ferrari are a huge part of the validity of F1. The only team I can't really imagine F1 without.
