I think it will be a let down as a race, esp after all the jibber jabber; just Hamilton pole-win or at worst come second, and take the title like he deserves. There hasn't been enough variation this season for us to expect anything else. There won't be inclement weather to disrupt things, there's no altitude issues to bring other cars into play. It's a track that plays to Merc's strengths and one Hamilton is good at. Potential mechanical issues is the only problem but they are always a problem, so you can't spend all day worrying about that. Well, you can, but it won't make any difference to the result.

As much as I can see your scenario happening, title deciders never seem to be that simple. 2014 has seen many twists and turns and I have a gut feeling that there may be more over the weekend. It just seems to simple to expect an easy Merc 1-2 and a routine title for Hamilton

Agreed ferrariman, there will be a lot of obstacles thrown up and the guy most adept at dealing with lifes curve balls will win, (assuming no FIA intervention gearbox glitches) just like the most adept will probably have had a whole careers worth of dealing with the type of adversity and obstacles the others havent

I know. Almost too simple, right? That's why I feel like it will be a bit of a damp squib. Like a racing gods' bluff. After all of the hoopla of Nico's Machiavellian plots, and double points, and the war of words, and misfortune, and memories of '07 ad '08, funneling itself into this one race - it's almost too much for the human mind to bear. I remember in '08 watching the race after hearing it was one of the best ones ever, and being disappointed that it was regular race with a few exciting laps at the end. It was a great result and a thrilling finish, but for most of the time things were going happily to plan.

So, yeah, I'm aware that these races can be a bit special, but I'm going into it kinda as neutral as possible, putting the hoopla aside, and letting whatever happens happen. Well, that's the plan. Despite my best intentions, it probably won't happen though.

I missed P3 . Had to go out. Damn! But didn't Lewis make a mistake handing it To Rosberg? Anyway, the real one is in two hours. Gulp!
Yes Ferrari looked better.

I think he made an error in the last sector from what I've read.myesterday sector three was where he had the advantage.

Lewis could also be focussing on a better setup for the evening sessions. Having a car that has some oversteer in the warmer conditions and when the temperature drops the grip will come and the balance will be good. I remember Rosberg in P3 in Singapore looked a lot more composed than Lewis but come quali Lewis was faster and Nico had some understeer.

Lewis had purples in the second, third and first sectors, however he had missed the flag after the third and so although he continued on his way to practice start, the sector time didnt count.
Therefore he had the speed to get first, but for whatever reason he chose to do what he did

Maybe he is cracking up

It's the pressure, he can't take the pressure. If he comes in 2nd today, he'll never be able to overtake the very intelligent driver Rosberg tomorrow and he'll lose the championship. :pouty face smiley:

Ron has just seen off the amatuerish Brundle in a masterclass of stating the corporate line :hehe:

Where was that? I'm just hearing Coulthard and Eddie wax lyrical over Button. Saying he should be kept in the team at all costs. :hehe:

Well folks, it's the last race of the weekend. The daggers will be out as the h8rz last throws will come in hard and fast. I'm login' it.

Yup, this is showtime proper, I am looking forward to the desperate straw clinging from the h8rz as their last ditch gets smaller and smaller

Brundle is leading the charge by focussing on pole and how its now the most important indicator of how good a driver is. Conveniently forgetting that Lewis didnt get the same amount of qualis as Nico
