Yeah that was a strange session. Sauber so quick, Mercedes nowhere, Ferrari nowhere in Q2 and Alonso pulled it out of his a$$ in Q3 somehow.

Never thought I'd pump my fist seeing Hamilton line up 5th.

Yeah, weird. Grosjean and Hülkenberg did a fantastic job (seriously, that should be Lotus' 2014 lineup - if Hülkenberg is that close to Grosjean in an inferior car, imagine what they could do for the team in the same machinery?), as did Bottas. He made Maldonado look silly today. Credit to both Hamilton and Alonso for those saves; hopefully Mercedes and Ferrari will have better pace in the race, although I can see them both having a bit of a struggle if they don't get good starts.

I want all of the top ten to score tomorrow. I can't remember the last time that happened.

Turns 3 through 9 really televise well they have a beautiful flow that translates very well on camera.

Bummed webber got 2nd. I would really have loved to see him get pole in person at his last US GP and my first US GP. but hey 2nd place is a good spot to start tomorrow. I'm going to sit at the top of the hill at turn 1 so it should be pretty fantastic!!

Also I heard a lot about Webber messing up his third sector, Vettel was able to gain 3 tenths on him in that sector, but looking at it I couldn't really see where he lost so much time.
