So Mclaren have been failing hopelessly for years, its just how it's at mclaren. Hey hear that Martin!! Its ok, you can carry on going backwards

So now i've pointed that out, the tune now changes to this instead of people saying it being Whitmarsh directly causing McLaren to go 'backwards'? Make up your minds

I think you must be very selective in what you read from Hughes. Yes he enthused about the rookie Lewi, who wouldn't, but there has been penty of criticism as well. He's generally objective and analytical when he writes.

Selective? Give it a rest. I've read many of Hughes articles over several years to form my own opinion. The guy fancies Hamilton in my view. I believe we have given our opinions on that guy before, so i won't spend time arguing this to stalemate all over again, if it's all the same to you.

My tune hasnt changed at all. Not bothered what Mclaren were doing when my driver wasnt in the team. And as has been pointed out to you many times, designing a dog (09) ...it happens. Designing a decent car then pissing it away on silly errors and pandering to a driver who can only operate in a tiny window, well they're two very different things.

On Hughes, I think we have crossed swords about him so we'll agree to differ.

Fancies hamilton? That'll be it then.

As for your problem with my old post - feel free to complain to admin about me if you want.

I have no problem with things said on forums, Its just that when a condescending reply is met by a similar response, its not possible for us contributors to hide behind mod status and hint at things backfiring

generally speaking I respond in kind to others, therefore I generally do not need to worry about approaches 'backfiring' as I only do onto others as they do onto me or as I would prefer they do to me

what did you mean by my approach (my condescending response to your condescending reply) backfiring anyway?

As far as condescending replies, how would you class this one on a scale of 1 - 10?

Hamilton has spoken about seeing all the teams top engineers concentrating on dissecting his data lap by lap to try help special needs Jenson. This cannot have helped McLaren in the development race

Even though it is two different sub teams that work in each of those areas....?:hehe:

Assuming 1 = not very I'd say minus 20.

It's more :whip: than condescending.

We would all have to agree with him/her, and find its jokes funny, If you mistakenly outsmarted him/her the whole forum would be shut down for a year till everyone had forgotten

The way all of you guys are going on about Mclaren it's like they are getting results similar to HRT, every team has a blip, hell in the 90's some of these blips lasted 2/3 seasons, and yes maybe they are putting a few more people on Jenson's side of the garage; but lets face it a mechanic working on understanding more about the car and how to make it work better is a mechanic improving the car, no matter what side of the garage you're on. It's unlikely that Jenson's mechanics and Lewis's mechanics don't talk to each other to improve the car.

The fundemental problem at Mclaren is that they put all their efforts, after the first few races, into improving their pit stops and it seems with sub 3 second stops they have achieved that, now they have been out developed by Red Bull and Ferrari who had nothing else to work on directly but their cars, Ferrari certifiably didn't need to work on their pit stops.

All Mclaren needs is some late nighters, lots of coffee and upgrades, now if one upgrade gives more rear down force give it to Button, if another favors Lewis Edit: boadiceas give it to him, so that's my message to Whitmarsh (As he is obviously a reader of these forums) stop being so "Everyone is equal" and make generic upgrades, and if one works for one driver and not for another then only keep it on the car of the driver that wants it..... Simples. :director:

Hi this is my first post in here as i just joined the forums!

In Denmark we have Nikolas Kiesa and Tom Kristensen as the studio clerks when F1 is on, That Kiesa guy knows pretty much all there is to know about F1. Last Sunday he said that Mclaren had done about 800 pit stops prior to Silverstone to get rid of all the stupid mistakes they have had through the start of the season, and averageing 2.5 on tyre changes seems great... except that the car now can be considered rubbish compared to the rest of the front runners...
