Yes but for Bud its team first drivers second and for me its driver first, team second. And that makes a difference to how you view things.

Are you saying people who support drivers before teams cannot "accept that s*** happens without the need for far fetched theories"?

Jenson just isn't very fast. That is the fact of the matter.

Jenson is as fast as any driver given the right circumstances; e.g. having a car that has the handling characteristics he likes. I have said it many times and no doubt I will say it many more times; Lewis can drive his way through problems! It's not possible to compare the drivers like for like, Lewis is the balls out racer, Jenson if the thinking strategic driver, both styles have their merits!

I don't care about driver bashing and to be honest, Jenson deserves it this season; but I expect the bashers to eat humble pie if he turns it around!

Its like my other half, shes is brilliant driving an automatic with good rear visibility, ABS and parking assistance,

when she drives (not often) my car she tends to kerb my 19 inch wheels, and panics when having to change gear and remember to look in the mirrors at the same time

Does this make her a world class driver given the right car?

Jenson has proven ability though, including this year, great race in Australia, misdemeanour in Malaysia, and was pretty good in China where he had a bad pit-stop.

His form has taken a pretty big downturn, but we don't know the reason, we can guess as it's generally held that Jenson needs his car setup and handling "just right" or he has pretty big problems.

Seems a little unfair Lewis gets masses of excuses every time he has a bad race or something, but various bad luck etc all gets ignored for Jenson.

I think that addresses the OP's first question.

----
I think McLaren gave Jenson a good length contract as he has proven pace, proven maturity, gets on well with a team which has shown to like continuity (Hekki got loads of time) probably as that is pretty helpful for designing and setting up a car. He's also fairly marketable, being British and a world champion.

Jenson's latest comment..

"look guys i'm trying my best but i keep getting under-steer, i cant switch my tyres on quick enough, Lewis is just to quick for me in practice and in qualifying. Kolvi kept slowing me down in Monaco so i just crashed into him,i know it was wrong, im so frustrated. Lewis now knows how to look after his tyres as well as being fast, how the hell am i supposed to challenge him. I Got my mate in Spain to mess up Lewis's fuel rig and what happens he starts last and still beats me and in Canada he laps me. I'm in trouble"

:rofl::rofl:

No.I can accept s*** happens, its happenned to all drivers at some time or other. My point is with very very few exceptions when s*** happens to a driver its just that s***, a crash, a failure, a puncture. The exceptions i can think of where conspiracy could race its ugly head is Piquet putting it in the wall for Alonso and Alonso conspiring with his engineer to stop lewis getting a quali run. (an interseting aside- Alonso was involved in both those examples).

When it comes to teams, history is peppered with incidents where decisions made have deliberately and adversly affected one of the drivers. Ask Barichelo, ask Webber, ask Senna (ok you cant but you get my drift) Teams have scope to engineer situations if they wish, drivers dont really, not from the cockpit during the race anyway.

Before you put words in my mouth, no I dont think its currently happening at Mclaren but some of the things that have happened over this and part of last season warrented looking at the situation and asking questions.

Sorry that was off topic but I wanted to answer the question that was asked. Now back to Button.....

I think it will depend on how quickly he finds out what the actual problem is. He seems mystified at the moment which makes solving the problem difficult. There are so many things it could be. How he uses the tyres; he had a different rear end to lewis at the last race (his choice); he asked for something (eletronical thing)to be taken off the car in an attempt to get back to basics. So it could be any of those.
This is an excellent article by my favourite writer Mark Hughes and it explores some of the reasons why Jenosn did badly on Sunday.

I wonder also did his downturn coincide with the new nose. And are Mclaren now ruing not letting the race drivers do that vital testing?

Not quite the same thing unless your other half used to be brilliant at driving a manual with poor visibility... Jenson is a proven race winner and championship winner; people can say that he won the drivers title only because of having a dominant car in the opening races, but he still won, he did what he needed to do to secure the title, like many drivers before him!
