There is nothing wrong withit at all and I struggle to understand how any true F1 fan (even if it isn't their driver or team that is dominating) just can't sit back and enjoy someone performing at the top of their game.

Conversely i'd say any true motorsports fan just wants to see great racing. Domination by one person does not lend itself to this.

Big Azza... Remember when you were a Hamilton fan?...dunno how you can flip flop that's not a true fan.

I'm with you on that one, though this season isn't quite like 02 or 04 even ough the points gap is large it's not quite the domination we saw in those seasons.

I was a Hamilton fan because I was a new fan to F1 in 2007 and Hamilton was a new driver. I was only following news articles and highlights shows that year up until Monaco 2007.

When I saw that I was an ecstatic Hamilton fan - because of what he did with that blown tire. But I remember the shock of Vettel (although I thought it was Bourdais at the time) finishing 5th despite starting second last. It's funny because if I had've watched every race from the start I would've seen that Vettel had 3 lap 1 collisions in the 4 races leading up to it, and that he probably wasn't that good at all.

I still supported Hamilton up to the end. I remember after Spa that year when Hamilton was awarded that dubious penalty that I said I wasn't going to watch F1 ever again. But I just thought I'd turn on the TV for qualifying for the next race, as some background noise. When I saw Vettel get pole I was surprised. So I watched the race, and it was perhaps the greatest memory of F1 ever for me.

But I think the biggest decider for me was in the final race when Vettel overtook Hamilton and theoretically ended Hamilton's title. Once I combined that with Vettel's regular high-points finishes (he finished 4th and 5th a few times), and that he was moving to a team with Mark (and Hamilton already had his title), Vettel became my favourite. Through the off-season I did a lot of reading and knew this guy was awesome.

I'm still looking out for the next Vettel - but as I've supported Vettel for 3 out of the 4 years that I've been watching F1, I don't think I'm flip-floppy at all.

But my favourite drivers will always be those who are good at qualifying. I love qually laps. And Vettel is good at them.

According to DC, his rate of progress in laptimes was way above average....racing in spare time must've helped but it's still very impressive for Cruise. Who knows, if he didn't end up as an actor he could've been in F1 thanking the UFOs and ET whenever he wins races.
