Jenson doesn't like how the Pirelli tyres need turning on, and thinks its unfair to some drivers, but he likes how they degrade. Perhaps he should just ask them to design a tyre round him and his driving style. Oh, I think that's what he's done.

I think he forgot that Mclaren was one of those teams that "lucked in" at the beginning of the year so I'm not sure what he's saying. Perhaps that he personally needs more to make the Pirellis work than other drivers on the grid or on his team?

Yeah well if Pirelli need to build tyres to Buttons specifications, they'd need to have a personal interview with him and take a couple of pages of notes. I'm sure they are going to take the generic requirements into account and build the damn tyres...it's up to the freakin drivers to adapt to them, not the other way around.

Getting it into the 'right' temperature range. If it's not able to get into that range then the performance is greatly diminished because there will be little grip. If you get it past that range and it becomes too hot then the tire will degrade and begin to deteriorate and grain much quicker.

I know what he means but I thought I'd attempts a double entendre. Didn't work.

It's early days yet so I doubt there is a huge amount of concern until they've tried the tyres on the 2013 car.

Don't worry Andrew, I understood, and did chuckle a little when WB actually gave you a sensible answer..... :D

So I am gathering it's ok to complain about Pirellis lack of durability but not ok to complain about their operating window?

Pirelli could blame the cars for not putting them into the window so that is OK

That's what Ferrari did with Bridgestone in the early 2000s... hence why they had so much success during that time period!

They built it around a team, not for some individual driver.

The team being Michael Schumacher!
