Well 2011 he has been unchallenged by his team mate, but in 2010 he was challenged all the way so 50/50 so far for Vettel.

Hold your horses: I don't think SV was challenged by MW in 2010 so much as he was challenged by his own mistakes and reliability problems. You add the points he lost through blunders by him or his team/car and the picture would be one of dominance.

Sounds more like 75/25 doesn't it. If you average out both years.

Hardly there were a string of races where mark out qualified and out raced him. Leaving Vettel all solky in the press conferences. His mistakes are his alone pressure from a team mate or competitor causes this, part and parcel of the sport. To say webber didn't challenge him in 2010 is utter ignorance.

Maybe thats true about 2010 but I find it hard imagine Webber coming back again at him now. Especially on Pirelli tyres. In fact it looks more likely Mark is heading towards the door marked retirement in the next 1-2 years.

Then if Sebs next team mate is to be one of the youngsters I can again imagine (not certain (see McLaren 2007) but likely) him having the upper hand quite easily over them. He would be a 2 time maybe 3 time WDC firmly ensconced in the team and the youngster would have to learn everything at RBR from scratch.

Seeing all this through to the end of 2013 and many people (not me but it is possible) see Seb and RBR largely unchallenged in being race and championship winners due to the stability of the regulations. So its not impossible he might end up with 4 championships on the bounce :yikes: And because all that will have been acheived in a dominant car many will say its just the car and not the driver.

So I can definitely see him wanting to look for a new challenge to prove himself in those circumstamces. He will only be 26 at the end of 2013.

Yep, good points there. I think 2012 is possibly Webbers final year but I think that will hinge on Ricciardo. If he jumps from HRT to Torro Rooso as expected for 2012 and if he performs as expected then he will find himself in a Rec Bull in 2013 I reckon.

Whilst it is great thought I can't see Red Bull and/or Vettel getting 3 or 4 titles on the trot. Sods law next year will feature a rare Adrian Newey dud.

As for a new challenge, as long as Red Bull are producing winning cars, he'd be daft to leave. I can't see him going to Ferrari before 2016 as Alonso wouldn't allow it. I think if Merc are still in F1 then he will end up in one of their creations.

To look past the fact that Vettel would have had a 70 point lead at the end of 2010 were it not for bad luck alone (not even counting blunders), is utter ignorance.

Luck is just part of the game...if we just start by if this or if that..it would never end.
The fact is that at the last race, Webber could have won it.

Hi Andrew. You may remember that from previous conversations we have had on this I still hold an inkling on Lewis going to Red Bull in 2013. I know you disagree and you may well be right BUT if that move were to come about I reckon Vettel would relish it for this reason.

That's correct - but saying he was challenged by MW when it actually was circumstances, car, blunders, bad luck would be distorting the picture.

Hmmm...My take on 2010 is that Webber did indeed challenge Vettel on several occasions but that the German ultimately got the edge over him. He did win the WDC after all  Yea, Seb lost a lot of points particularly at the start of the year but Mark was still able to come at him hard and show him the way in about half a dozen races.

"circumstances, car, blunders, bad luck " and personal problems as well. Oh sorry, Vettel! I thought you meant Hamilton for a moment there. :D

He saw how it worked for Vettel in '10 and thought he'd give it a try

Quite some similarities there arent there. Lewis just added a few extras to make things really difficult for himself.

Spain, Monaco car blunders? then Turkey where we all know who's blunder that was... just ask Marko! :banghead: Webber was leading the championship most of the season, you cannot say that alone wouldn't force said blunders by Seb? part and parcel of having competition from your team mate you either race on with no issues or you dig yourself a hole. Just ask Hamilton.

DD you are starting to sound like a FetFANboy
