Yeah dude American muscle is the cheap way to go fast. Of course you'll get the Euro snobs who say American cars cant turn and crap, but hey, how often are you in a street race with turns??? Anyways I regret getting my lancer, I knew I should've bought my cousins SS camaro.

the thing is you coudn't really run a yank muscle car in england apart from motorway driving and even then we have the odd tight bend on the motorways.

We have lots of windy bendy a roads which are fantastic fun in a car that has good handling but if you took around a yank tank it would just be scary or boringly slow.

and there no good for track days either, you just got out accelerated, out braked, and out handled quick on the straights mind but thats all.

That said an american muscle car is the way to go for US roads since there so straight.

I dont know why people think all US roads are just straight, they're just like any other country roads. Apart from the highways which is what people see on t.v. most of the time, which is probably why people think US roads are straight. They're definitely wider but they're not more or less twisty than any other country.

When i want to DC and then Flordia i rented cars and your roads are straighter and wider than european roads especialy uk roads

thes a bit of motorway near my house that you have to slow down to 50 (enforced by speed cameras) for a bend thats quiet tight you'd never get that on the highway in the us

I've done 25mph corners on freeways including scary signage that warns semis from tipping over!

You've never driven down highway 1 through Big Sur then. It has the most beautiful scenery ever.

Sucks you guys have speed cameras, if theres a sharp turn and no one is around I just go through full on, racing line and all :D

Yeh but thats like a A or B road in the UK.

we've loads of them weaving around old villages and towns.

Not all our motorways are speed cameraed but this section has a timed speed camera on it so it takes the time your number plate enters and the time it leaves and works out how fast you were going from that so.. i could approch at 20 mph then hit 80-90mph at the bend full racing line straight though brake and continue after the conrer at 10mph, perhaps pull over and read the paper abit.

I would suggest saving the money and putting it into the engine of a performace car and not an econobox like the Focus.

He has a 2001 SS with Corvette LS1 engine in it. I believe its the only year Chevy made the SS more powerful than the Z28, which stock has 325 Hp while the Z28 has 310. Its nice, he got it brand new when he was in high school, but the only thing I dont like about it is that its automatic.

It doesnt matter though, you can buy these camaro's in really nice condition for dirt cheap. I would want to get a black one, lower it (cuz the stock springs are too high), and completely black it out. Throw in a magnaflow or Borla exhaust, and a sleeper cam= you got yourself one badass Camaro. :D

But yeah bud, getting an exhaust on your SS would make it so much louder. My friend has a 01 mustang GT, and it sounded pretty nice, but than he got a Borla exhaust on it and it sounds so beastly now.

wish we could get cars like that in the UK.

just wouldn't be practical with what we pay for fuel tho.
