Giancarlo Fisichella, however, has already written off any chance of being a championship contender this year after finishing just eighth in Bahrain.

He said : "I feel a little bit disappointed because at the beginning of the season I was confident to fight for the title. Unfortunately we cannot do that any more."

In your dreams Peter Pan, in your dreams! More BS from Renault

I hope Toyota beat Renault this season

Fisichella will be dropped by Renault this season. I honestly can't see who'd want him after that.

In his defense though, I don't think anybody else on the grid could drive the current Renault to constant podium finishes. Maybe MS could have... :P

He also says that he wants to end his career with Renault and wants to beat Patrese's record number of races. That means he wants to be there until 2011 - he'll have to pull his finger out of his arse then!

Flav has dropped faster and more consistent drivers than him and I'm surprised he's still there.

He'll never beat Patrese's record, not even Schumacher beat it, the only man who's even remotely close to Patrese's record is Barrichello. Fisi will hang up the helmet only after he's got past 200.

How did Renault and Honda go from something to nothing though?

Honda? Renault maybe, but Honda?

I was thinking the same. Suppose he means just how far back they are now.

Relative to one another... Renault in the middle Honda at the back!!!

Renault benefitted from a close relationship with Michelin and are now suffering because of it... Honda suffer from Japanese Corporate interference, where Honda has insisted on being involved in the design of the car, rather than taking a back seat and providing the engine and the money. If they'd just renamed BAR as Honda and left everything else the same, they'd be in front.
