It is all very well signing petitions but they don't make a dime's worth of difference if it is not backed up by boycotts to really drive the point home. I suggest fans do not attend any races to start with. Empty stands (except for a lone Ferrari flag on fire) makes a big statement to the idiots at the FIA

Ron Dennis is pouring money into F1 because it has made him so weathy even with fines and penalties.

Idiotic decision by the FIA and typical idiotic respond by McLaren supporters. If you think the majority of tifosi are completely amoral souls and have no honour because somehow they have a decsion in what took place in Spa then I think the majority of McLaren supporters are completely stupid for coming with this conclusion.

As for people suggesting boycotting F1 or not watching F1, please, like you gonna do that.

Indeed. But I'm not sure you'd get enough people doing that in time for the next race. Perhaps you could get enough people to not watch the final round if you worked hard enough and spread the word far enough, but you're asking a lot, there. It can be done, but it would take dedication from a lot of people. Me? Not sure I could really not watch the final round...

Not terribly surprised by the verdict, we've seen some ridiculous decisions of late and - with both McLarens being penalised during the race, for basically attempting to overtake another car - I'm losing faith in the sport. Spa is a classic, and with the changeable conditions, we should now be discussing the close racing today and Raikkonen's misfortune (finding a wall, unlike Hamilton who found grass when he ran wide). Instead we're sat here wondering just how much acid the stewards are on. At this time, Wrestling is more of a sport.

I personally support Raikkonen and Ferrari, but fail to support this decision. :nono:

Well, if people feel this is a fundamental problem, are any of you going to start a petition to be delivered to the FIA? And publicize it far and wide? Or are you going to moan a bit on a single forum and then go back to watching again next week after swearing blind that you'll never watch a F1 race again?

I'm quite prepared to create an open letter, upload it and attach a form for people to digitally sign if there's enough interest (and, crucially, input) from you folks here. :)

Hello......great idea, I'll put my name on and so will all my family and friends who sat and watched this rubbish with me...
Disgraceful.

This is all like when West Ham got away with cheating last year in the Premiership and getting away with it with a £5million fine which is nothing because of the rich chairman they had, and the sausageface in charge of the Premier League Richard Scudamore said "We're not going to deduct points because its too late in the season" and West Ham survived as a result and my team Sheffield United got relegated.

It's almost as if the Premier League and the FIA are run by the same stupid incompetent prats.

I don't know how the tifosi live with themselves. The majority of them are completely amoral souls and have no honour. Enjoy your victory.

As pointed out, the majority of Ferrari fans disagree with the penalty. So much for your "amoral souls" rant.

From what I've been reading online this evening, most Ferrari fans don't believe there was anything for which Hamilton could be penalised, but were happy to see him get penalised. So, I'm afraid, the majority of the tifosi have not got one iota of sportsmanship.

I wonder what penalty they would have given Hammy if Massa had been more than 25s behind?!

You'd need to have thousands of signatures for it to make a difference. So who would start such a petition and do the work promoting it? As it would have to be pushed and promoted far and wide. I'm not going to do it, as I don't have the time. And as for other peoples' comments that a boycott would be more effective, there won't be a boycott of any reasonable size.

It will be interesting to hear Bernie's response. If you ever had any doubts that a replacement series needs to be formed, the stewards decision against LH should erase them all.

Has the new concorde agreement been signed by all the teams yet? Because if it hasn't, that could be the key to the teams breaking away like they tried to do about 4 years ago.

LOL I was just thinking the exact same thing.

Basically they know Kimi is out of it now so they basiclly gave Massa an extra boost. (note not hating massa at all)

Wonder what they would of done if Lewis didn win the race. or as you say the gap was bigger than 25 secs. Really angry about this. It not even remotley questionable in my head. Its called racing for god sake and unless you are Ferrari you cant do jack.

I use to hate Schumachers prefferantial treatment but this has gotten out of control.

Dont think anything will come of this either because the FIA are a bunch of fat cats at their worse who don't give a monkeys.

I think the next thing we will see is a penalty against Kimi, which wont mean jack now or a massa penalty when he has won a race by more than 25 secs, to try and act a if they are impartial.

That is simply a ludicrous idea. If one is so disturbed that it lead's one to quit watching then so beit but how could a replacement serie's REPLACE the real F1 regardless of the FIA's b/s?

The FIA/governing body need's overhauling not F1 as a race serie's.
