I was petrified of anything that involved medical needles, i.e. injections, blood tests, getting a filling at the dentist. There were times when I was ill and, despite needing some blood tests, refused them. I did, however, get pretty ill for a while and I basically forced myself into getting the tests done. Whilst I don't like getting injections etc. now, I'm prepared to go and get them. I suppose my fear was conquered by being forced to face it.
