  I thought you'd like that one

No one can convince me any different about him after hearing stuff like that.
Did you cringe or is that something you like and admire about him :banghead:

Slight cringe cos I knew what you lot would be thinking. He does himself no favours when he says that. I think he actually cant handle the press, like robert said, he cant play poker.
Its his driving I love. And I dont think the way he comes over is how he really is.

So basically you don't want to accept he is the way he keep showing us; instead you prefer to idealize Lewis... and you tell me you are not daydreaming...? :inbed:

When Lewis did say that he was told "legends come from the back", I did think he is acting a bit up his own arse!

Exactly why does he say these thing at all then?

HEIKKI GOT FOURTH

HEIKKI GOT FOURTH

I haven't even seen the race yet

Actually he did well considering not so stellar qualifying and penalty. Pity he could not get podium (though I'm happy for Toyota and Truli)... but anyway, decent result. Even without penalty, he could not get more than 3rd (considering Ferraris' pace), so basically penalty took him just 1 point; now that is nice damage control.

You're right, Hammy's going off the deep end. He's getting worse. No one can deny there's an increase of mistakes on and off the track. He's spiralling uncontrollably into a chasm of insanity from which there is no escape. What was RD thinking putting 2 inexperienced drivers in the cars and expecting success? Keeping Alonso would have been a lot better for the team, whether or not his teammate would be Hammy or Kovi.

He should have some counseling. Such reckless drive with no respect for other drivers I haven't seen in time. If ever. Kid was loose canon. I know it is hard when one gets delusional and convince himself he is that good he can actually win starting from 13 in poor performing car, but hey, there are people trained to deal with that kind of problem.

If I were Lewis, I'd retire dad (he deserves some long winding down anyway after all, maybe play some golf and drive in one of those slow golf cars instead of sport supercars :hehe: ) and hire realistic, down-to-earth management. Honestly. It would help Lewis in a long run...

Lewis did not deserve that penalty in my opinion, he had clearly passed Vettel

I don't think he would pass him if he hit the brakes in time to slow enough for that curve.

Would be nice for FM, atleast he shows more expression

And he's cute and has a nice bum! :cloud9:

My opinion on Heikki :hehe:

Makes me wonder... if all the drivers in F1 were girls, would we (boys) comment them the same way.

Probably. Most likely.

Agreed. Vettel had the inside line. Lewis should of given the place back straight away, it would of been the sporting thing to do. Instead he gets a drive-thru and we get idiots like 1forumla saying that the F1 does not want a black person to win...

I am on a racetrack on average anywhere between 10 and 20 times a year. I've raced boats, sportbikes, motorcross, offroad trucks and now cars. Never have I seen it legal to pass someone, not make the corner because you chose to outbrake yourself and him at the same time and still retain the position. It is wholesale ignorance to say Hamilton should have retained that spot. Yes, he was physically past the man when he went off the track, but then again he went off track BECAUSE he got by him. That is not a legal pass, not in F1, not in kiddie go karts, not in any racing on this globe. Anyone whining about it is obviously a member of the Hamilton is cute fanclub...and not a race fan. Get over it...he made a mistake (yet...AGAIN) and it cost him. He is young, he is inexperienced, he is full of himself and he had to pay a penalty. Little bit more 'pressure' when you aren't running in the front all by yourself...eh Hammy? Wonder if this one was the teams fault too...I'll bet they didn't get on the radio and tell him there was a corner coming up....

Great post and I agree with you.

I quite enjoyed today's race, which is odd, because I've never really liked Magny-Cours. There were some good fights and it was nice to see Piquet finally get a result, as well as Trulli getting that podium. He drove an excellent race, though when the rain started I did think Heikki was going to have him. Feel quite sorry for Rosberg and Nakajima, who seemed not to be able to do much today.

And I'm not going to comment on Lewis' performance because I know it will only spark something that I can't be arsed with.

Lewis did not deserve that penalty in my opinion, he had clearly passed Vettel

It wasn't that he passed him by going off, it was that had he not gone off the pass would not have stuck and he'd have lost ground to him. In order to execute the pass he had to carry too much pace through the turn and into the next one so he was unable to round the turn. He took to the runoff to make it stick, avoiding braking hard to make it round the turn and losing the place again or smashing into another car by flinging it madly into the racing line and that is why he received a penalty.

Completely agree and, to be honest, I'm stunned by the amount of people who can't seem to see what actually happened.
