One of wife Vivian's ice creams = New contract

"F1 world championship points leader Nico Rosberg appears poised to ink a new contract and stay with Mercedes for the next two years.

With his negotiations being headed by family friend Gerhard Berger, Rosberg was said to be butting heads with Mercedes not only over money, but also the length of his contract extension beyond 2016.

But as the German prepared to celebrate his 31st birthday with his wife Vivian in Ibiza, Rosberg was surprised when Mercedes team chairman Niki Lauda walked into their ice-cream parlour ‘Vivi’s Creamery’ with his own wife.

Vivi’s Creamery published a photo of the visit on its Facebook page, while Bild newspaper explained that Lauda had taken his new boat to Ibiza on its maiden voyage.

After enjoying an ice-cream, Lauda said: “We are quite agreed on a new two-year contract. The details have yet to be worked out.”

Asked if a new contract is Rosberg’s birthday present, the F1 legend smiled: “No, he has earned it.”

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE REFER ROSBERG TO A SPORTS PSYCHOLOGIST PLEASE. How many more times is he going to lose his mind under pressure. :banghead:

It was Lewis' fault, did you not see the replays? clearly Lewis's fault turning in on Rosberg when the German had at least two car widths between him and the apex of the corner... :hehe:

Rosberg signs on with Mercedes for another 2 years.

http://www.grandprix247.com/2016/07/22/ ... d-of-2018/

"Mercedes have announced that they have extended Nico Rosberg’s contract with the Formula 1 world champion team until the end of 2018.

The team released the following statement on their website:

“Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team and Nico Rosberg sign contract extension.”

“We are delighted to announce that the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team has signed a two-year contract extension with Nico Rosberg for the 2017 and 2018 Formula One seasons.”

“Nico has been a core member of the Silver Arrows since the team returned to the sport in 2010 and has played a crucial role in the team’s success in that time.”

“He has scored 19 Grand Prix wins and 25 pole positions so far with Mercedes-Benz and is currently leading the Drivers’ World Championship.”"

This is good news for Nico. Also good news for Hamilton as it keeps Verstappen away and opening up the possibility of Hamilton staying the #1 Merc driver until 2018.

Mercedes engineer Tony Ross: "Haroo! Excellent job, really good job on that first stint, Nicola!"
Nico Rosberg: "Thank you very much, Thomas, thank you very much. Awesome guys, thank you very much. It's great to win here in Italy."

Rosberg was called Britney (as in Spears) by his former teammate Mark Webber, but we've never heard Nicola before. And now apparently Tony Ross is now known as Thomas ...

In the UK and Germany, the male form Nicola has been used as a female name, which originally came from incorrectly presuming the name's vowel ending 'a' was the female form, as has also occurred with the male given name Andrea.
