A good read indeed. Although it underlines how fickle motorsport can be - Davidson in LMS, Kimi at Ferrari, Carl Breeze racing in British Ginetta G50s - dominating of course but he'd surely have the skills for F1.

I don't like the comparison between drivers of different eras of the sport, Raikkonen has had many more races than Senna and the Brazilian was taken from us before his time. There were many less races per season in the late 80s / early 90s compared to today, only 16 rounds in 1993 compared to 21 races this season.

You may have a point there moa. But while we are on the subject I would also like to mention that as of Canada '15 Raikkonen has more fastest laps than Alain Prost (41)!

A percentage is better than pure numbers, but still not right in my view, different generations had different challenges. It seems to be much easier to rack up win stats in a time where one team or another dominates for year after year. In previous years, there was much more competition making winning race after race more difficult.

Another variable would be the team's philosophy towards their drivers.

With his podium in Russia Raikkonen now has more podiums than Sebastian Vettel and is fifth on the all time list.

Also Raikkonen is first in third place finishes, 31 in total. Three ahead of Rubens and Fernando! He is the best third place driver in the business.
