Good article sagi, enjoyed the read. Early days yet but I like what I've seen so far from Marco.

Everyone's in agreement about Marco, how could there be anything but support. Nobody, and I mean nobody, wants to see an emaciated Ferrari.

You may be right; but, d.a.m.n. it, there seems to be a lot of ""glee"" in kicking them while they're down!! :irked:
But, I have faith that won't last... however, don't be expecting me to return the favour!! :nono:

That's not for kicking them when they're down. It's for Not accepting that Ferrari can and has done many things "wrong" and they're in the position they are because of those things and not because the world is conspiring against them. Marco Mattiacci thankfully seems knows how to fix that.

I knew this sage piece of advice would come in handy  :

...you could consider the post more before you retort, just to avoid unintentionally irritating the others

...and, I would add, especially in a support thread, regardless of whom/what the subject may be!

Sagi, all I have done here is to expand on the discussion by mentioning a pattern that is almost certainly known to the new TP who might think it but cannot add trhat to his list of 'whats wrong with Ferrari' for obvious reasons.

This is entirely different from a meaningless 1 line post submitted not for content but for effect.

And you keep talking about kicking a team when down, is that the same as Marco has just done by clinically listing whats wrong at the team
or is it ok once the TP says it but F1 fans have to remain silent and propogate the fairy tale version where theres nothing wrong and its just bad luck? You admit to being a fan who has no reliance on facts or technical knowledge and is motivated simply by being unhappy the team are not doing well. You admit to putting other drivers/teams down to make yourself feel better about the state of your team yet dont see any irony in the term 'kicking a team when down'?

Do we want to be a forum for lipstick fans or do we want to be a forum that discusses proactively, honestly and with informed detailed knowledge? I know whats better, and luckily enough there is a private Ferrari lounge for 'other activities'

This was in the media this morning after my post yesterday, how is this much different from what I posted?

This could go one of two ways. Either Marmorini disappears within the corporate world that is Renault working quietly on new projects or he could be driven to embarrass Ferrari – in similar fashion to Mercedes chief designer Aldo Costa – except it’s doubtful Red Bull are celebrating yet.

Marmorini started with Ferrari in 1990 and left in 1999 to join Toyota. Ten years later he rejoined Ferrari and took over the engine department. Whilst originally at Ferrari he worked under the stewardship of Paolo Martinelli who now works within the FIAT power train technologies group.

Any fans of RBR should maybe bear in mind that whilst reliability of the Toyota engines he designed was never questioned, their performance always was. Similarly, with Ferrari, engine failures are exceptionally rare but they do not lead the field in either efficiency or power.

It would be easy to suggest he is a scapegoat for Mattiacci but the fact the chassis designers had the authority to dictate the power unit requirements to him and he was ineffectual at fighting his corner were the real reasons he was released.

At the risk of being offensive, which really is NOT my intention;
it's not the "what" you say, Cookin'! It's the "how" you say it!

You can't seem to stay away from negativity, so what may otherwise
be "constructive criticism" (as it comes across from Mattiacci), from
you it comes across as little more than yet another belittling diatriabe
with the sole purpose of gratuitously denigrating (a.k.a. kicking one
when they're down).

the only news from ferrari for years has been negative, either knee jerk sackings or bending the rules, or complaining about others, or trying to get the rules fixed to make it easier, or denigrating rival teams, or trying to destabilise the whole sport, or threatening to leave (again) or publicly lambasting the number 1 driver or publicly crawling to the number 1 driver.
I could go on but whats the point? you wont understand anyway if its not cartoon ferrari world where all ends well just because you support them.

Having said that, appointing the new TP MM is a very good move and I said so at the time, recently and even in the last post. Since then the latest news? more sackings - but we cant comment because a ferrari fan might just happen to be outside their safe insulated space at that point?

MM will turn the team around, only if given a few years, and I just dont see it happening as, unlike Todt Brawn et al, he is a part of the family and is bound to get caught up in some intrigue or coup or clear out, would be good if the fans had an argument I could listen to for why it will be different, if not then just continue as you were and Ill try harder to keep my views on MMs progress hidden from you

No point responding, as it will become one more ciruclar
discussion and I believe we've all had enough of them!

Marco turning up at Ferrari reminds me of Flavio turning up at Bennetton that turned out well with a few championships (let's just avoid the Singapore incident for a bit lol)

I'd would greatly dislike it if Marco ended out being anything like Flavio - although I am looking forward to DD posting a picture of Marco in a thong :hehe:

Like Flav or not, he's a guy that got things done. I prefer a team boss who harbours ideas like that in his head (though not execute it) rather than a smiley clueless boss like the missing Whitmarsh.

Flavio seemed to work in 10 years cycles

Look at Benetton 1990 until 1996 - He built the team and got Schumacher 2 world championships.
Then at Renault 2000 - 2006 - He built the team up and got Alonso 2 championships.
