A grieving father’s simple appeal to strangers has resulted in a beautiful gift: Portraits of his daughter, finally free of the machines that surrounded her during her brief life.

The Ohio dad, whose baby died last Thursday, posted a brief request on Reddit over the weekend: “My daughter recently passed away after a long battle in the children's hospital,” he wrote.

“Since she was in the hospital her whole life, we never were able to get a photo without all her tubes. Can someone remove the tubes from this photo?”

That is so moving! And I bet he gets hundreds of offers because I think there are more good people than bad in the world.
Things move on, and they move on faster and faster and we have to deal with that, and we have to deal with the bad people , and we have to deal with children becoming more aware and sophisticated a lot younger than the previous generation. We have to deal with these issues because change will keep getting faster and faster. But I still think there are more good people than bad ones.

There is no denying the good, better and best that the Internet has to offer!
Family members finding family members, people connecting across borders,
previously insurmountable by /cost distance, cures/hobbies/recipes shared,
businesses that didn't exist are successful!!

BUT, you have (what I sincerely hope is) a small population of people who are
into sordid activities, including childporn, predators of the young, fanatics of
various political/religious persuasions, who now can access the world. Sure,
we, as consumers, need to be more aware; but, there are so many parents/
cultures that do not allow that to happen.

There have always been bad people who do bad things. It didn't used to be talked about, children weren't aware of the dangers and would be too afraid to speak out if anything happened to them. I suspect most people at some time have had a brush with a perv or a pedo. Just look at all the high profile people coming out of the woodwork as child abusers.
So now the pedos have a new tool, the internet, but it is an educating tool too and children are far more aware of the dangers than ever they were before and they are far more able to speak out about it and receive help and protection. Some will always remain more vulnerable but that has always been the case.
