I wanted Vettel to make that pass real bad...since I now get Alonso for 6th. :groucho:

Well I got nothing but I'm far happier so I don't really care today!

Submitted, I do however think my first and second predictions should be the other way round... I think Hamilton could win

Had this thought too...but went with the 'safe' option.

Btw Hamiltons brakes smoking on the grid, car in pieces with minutes left to go. Great.

I'm a f***ing idiot, I should of gone gambled instead of staying safe. I truly believe that Hamilton would of won regardless of Rosberg's problem. Looking at practice sessions and qualifying Hamilton was on average 3 to 4 tenths faster per lap and during the race he was 3-4 tenths faster in the first stint and then when he switched tires he was flying.

Also, that's why I left my picks till late as I wanted to wait for them to be on the grid and Paddy told everyone that the "fire" and "smoke" wasn't anything to worry about, it was just that they were too warm.

I don't know, I think it was still the sensible choice.

1) Nico has not had any bad luck this season.
2) Lewis has not done a race practice session, his car bailed out and he had no experience on race settings this weekend
3) Nico had 4 cars in between him and Lewis at the start.

I see too many reasons against me choosing Lewis to win, even in hindsight.

Hamilton won that race DNF from Vettel or not, he was on Rosberg's gearbox with a one stop strategy, his second stop was just to be safe, but he'd have comfortably finished his race with the first set of hards.

The one reason you're not writing down is the reason he won... it's his home GP, it was going to take a lot to pull Lewis off the top step of the podium today.

I've totally damaged my position in the POOL standings, but the fact the British Grand Prix ended up being such a success is the main thing.

WB, your lead in the POOL is going to be pretty impressive now!

Lew I'd be honored to have you come from behind. :hehe:

"Nico has not had any bad luck this season" that gives us an even bigger reason to chose Hamilton over Rosberg.

Rosbergs gearbox was an extra race older so even more of a reason.

Lewis hadn't done a race practice but that doesn't really matter, it would of put him on a slight back foot but he still has his teammates data and over the difference in their short runs the differential between their average lap times it would be equalized and Hamilton would of got faster and faster as he actually did in the race.

Seriously, 4 cars is nothing they were obviously going to breeze past the other cars and Hamilton was in second by lap 4... 6 seconds to make up over 48 laps is pretty easy, only need to go just over a tenth faster and like with my previous comment he was 3-4 tenths faster in their short-run averages so 2 tenths per lap was pretty much obvious.

Hamilton would of won regardless of Rosbergs issue because of the right tyre choice by Hamilton's garrage, he could of walked home with the set he had or could of overtaken and then had another pit when Rosberg pitted and been on a level pegging but ahead.
