Oh, this could get very very messy. Ron doesn't hold back and will ridiculise and shame Button till even he won't want to stay and collect the fat paycheck for cruising and collecting
I remember Ron laying into Coulthard and calling him brain dead for something that turned out not to be his fault at all
Button is about to get humiliated on an industrial scale unless he really starts earning his 15x mag pay check

Any news on a title sponsor? It takes a bit to turn a battleship around and Ron has a lot of areas that need attention. Purely on the business front of thing, keeping Hamilton would have netted McLaren little since the 2013 car was such a dud and they didn't get on top of the 2014 car. There is no excuse for McLaren not to be the Williams of this year.

Yes there is a reason, this car was built by clowns under Whitmarsh's leadership....and let's not forget RD was back only after the failed 'mock up' launch was planned. This car was already 95% built by then.

This year is the transformation year, under RDs supervision. If we want to see effects of his leadership they will only start manifesting start of next year.

With Honda next year they have less need of a title sponsor, but they also have more chance of getting one with Honda there, maybe they will sell the space to Honda who could then get Jap partners on board or could even afford to use the space as perks for it's partner companies.
Let's just try hard to forget the Earth DreAm Car deal

Jenson Button says he disagrees with Ron Dennis' comments that he needs to work harder to consistently beat Kevin Magnussen and is still refusing to comment on his future at McLaren.

Earlier this week McLaren boss Dennis said Magnussen's form in 2014 should be a "wake-up call" for Button, who is just 14 points ahead of his team-mate, adding that as a former world champion he should be consistently beating the rookie. Button thinks Dennis' comments come from the frustrating position McLaren finds itself in but believes the blame does not lie solely at one person's feet.

"I think Ron's practising to be a motivational speaker maybe," Button said when asked his opinion. "I think when you're in the position we've been in for the last 18 months it's not easy, for anyone within the team its very difficult. So no, I think we all need to work harder as a team. I don't think we need to be pointing the finger at any individual within the team, I think we've got ourselves into this situation and we've got to fight our way out.

"I don't do things in half measures. I have the experience in Formula One to know you have to give 100% and I always do every time I'm in the paddock, at the factory, on the phone to my engineers - everything is 100%. And that's it."

Rumours are already circulating that McLaren hopes to sign a big-name driver for the start of its partnership with Honda next season, with Fernando Alonso and even Lewis Hamilton linked. Button's contract is up at the end of the year, though McLaren has an option to extend the deal, but the 2009 world champion is remaining tight-lipped on the subject.

"We will see! For me right now it's about doing the best job I can. The whole team are working every day to do a better job. We are not where we want to be, we are not where McLaren is used to being - and we know that, so we are working vey hard. But in terms of the future that's something I can't discuss right now."

The self proclaimed duck just doesnt get it and never will

"I think when you're in the position we've been in for the last 18 months it's not easy, for anyone within the team its very difficult. So no, I think we all need to work harder as a team. I don't think we need to be pointing the finger at any individual within the team, I think we've got ourselves into this situation and we've got to fight our way out.

This is all part and parcel of why the team has collapsed like this, 'we will try harder' and 'we need to go away and try harder' and 'we need to do this' and 'we wont blame anyone' and 'no one can win all the time' and 'we are trying our best'

'we are trying our best'? - this should be 'this is our best so we shouldnt be at McLaren so lets do whats good for the team and leave already so that they can bring in someone much better'

'we shouldnt point fingers at anyone? - this should be 'we need to weed out every lame duck in the team and ruthlessly cull them so they are never ever heard of again

'we got ourselves in this situation, we've got to fight out? - this should be 'we got ourselves in this situation and after 2 years its getting worse, if we were gonna fight out of it we would have when it was easier, i.e. before it got worse, we couldnt so we should just leave and let someone else do it'

how about 'I am a winner, and its not working here so Ill leave and try to win elsewhere as its too shameful to be an integral part of the collapse of a great team'

heres a clue Button, about how to behave now the team has been restored to Ron values

"I know I will be judged and my biggest fear is always failure - and I don't want to fail. I don't intend to. And it won't be through lack of effort if I don't achieve the perfection I am looking for. I am a perfectionist and I drive myself harder than anybody in the company. If they can't keep up with this 'mature' man then they must accept the consequences."

 is the 32 before or after the Hugo Boss announcement?
ESPNF1 McLaren insists it is not concerned about the absence of a title sponsor on its cars this year.

Before its deal with Vodafone expired at the end of 2013, McLaren said it would announce a new title sponsor in December last year but it has so far failed to materialise. At the start of this season team boss Ron Dennis said the car would "definitely feature a title sponsor at some time in the next few races", but as of the ninth round of the season at Silverstone no announcement had been made.

Asked for an update on the negotiations, racing director Eric Boullier said: "We will announce it when we sign it and obviously it's because we haven't finalised. We are not in a position where we are struggling to get money, we are perfectly fine and with Honda coming on board [as an engine supplier in 2015] we are even more."

Boullier admitted the team's performance this year had not helped, but said he was not concerned about McLaren's finances.

"There is no one reason. If you delay it's because there is nothing to sign or be ready to be signed. Obviously performance doesn't help, the economic situation outside is not the best, but McLaren has 32 partners and sponsors, so on this one we have the biggest budget we have ever had and it's going to increase next year. This is not a worry."

Was perusing this out of curiosity and the very last line is very relevant to this thread. This can't be good news for the already struggling team. I don't dispute their claims that they've got the largest budget for this year's team, but this is the stuff that makes board members and investors sit up and take note.
The full Forbes List Here

BBC Spanish football club Real Madrid has topped an annual Forbes list of the world's most valuable sports teams.

The club, who won the Champions League in May, is worth an estimated $3.44bn (£2bn), Forbes said. The top three slots are occupied by football clubs, with Barcelona in second place at $3.2bn, and Manchester United third, with a value of $2.81bn. Forbes calculated the value of the teams based on equity, debt and stadium deals.

MLB baseball team the New York Yankees were in fourth spot, valued at $2.5bn.
In fifth place is NFL American Football team the Dallas Cowboys, worth $2.3bn.

NFL teams fill 60% of the top 50 slots, occupying 30 places.
The 20 non-NFL teams in the top 50 include six from MLB, eight from football, four from NBA basketball, one from the NHL ice hockey league and one from Formula 1 motor racing. Forbes calculates that the average value of the top 50 teams is $1.34bn, an 8% increase on last year.

Baseball team the New York Mets are one of three teams that dropped off this year's list of the top 50.
The other two to fall out of the list are also familiar names, the Oakland Raiders from the NFL and F1 team McLaren.

I think the clue to the bits he found interesting is that he highlighted and bolded the part about 1 team and the part about McLaren falling out

Maybe you should make a song and dance about this 1 formula one team lest we forget how loudly Ferrari were telling everyone they were actually the most valuable brand ""anywhere"" and at the same time battling with the Torro Rosso for the 1 point position

Actually this shows what a great job McLaren have done this year - As Ferrari are a much richer company who make their own integrated engines and cars, McLaren have done very well do be dicing with Ferrari almost every race this year, despite Ferraris 2x WDC drivers and all the money in the world compared to sponsorless McLaren who have just been ejected from the rich list.

I had no clue to whom that article was referring, until I looked it up, myself.
And, that was AFTER, I'd made my comment.

But your comment shows that you either didn't actually read the post or that you did and still decided to highlight the fact that the F1 team in the list was not the team this ""support"" thread is for

The post already highlighted and bolded that there was 1 team in the list and 1 team dropped, so why did you respond just to say the post had missed the 1 team left in?

because ferrari is great, and should be mentioned in all threads. And all comments made by everyone else in any thread is a closeted side swipe at the one and only great Ferrari and MUST be highlighted by the mighty and faithful tifosi....

ffs cooking' havent you worked that out yet. ;)

Ok, I knew the part of Ferraris greatness overriding the need for truth logic or sense

But I thought the ""support"" part was added to the threads as a result of a demand to not ""kick"" a team when they are ""down"" or ejected from a rich list
