I have never heard of the others in the top 3

Sent using NCC-1701

Is that because you dont follow Cricket or American Football?

Yes. I would of thought people like tiger woods or Micheal Jordan, people like that would be high on the marketable list. Even David Beckham etc

I suppose what I mean is people that are famous for people who do not follow that sport.

I believe that the original link was based on their marketability over the next 4 years, hence why Lewis is ahead of Beckham, Ronaldo, etc

Another thing to take into consideration is that it may also be based
on Mercedes being dominant in F1, over the next 4 years.

Of course not, otherwise Nico would be very high on the list.

All I am saying is that it can't hurt Hamilton's marketability to be in a winning car!
Or... do you think his marketability would be this high if he'd stayed at McLaren?

Hey, Second Coming, I think Hamilton may have heard your "advice":

 wrote:">Hamilton: I'm hungrier than Rosberg

23 May 2014 – Lewis Hamilton says a tougher upbringing has made him "hungrier" to win world championships than Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg, as the duo continue their fascinating battle for the 2014 crown.

Hamilton, who grew up in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, moved three points clear of Rosberg – who was born in Monte-Carlo – after notching up his fourth successive race victory at the recent Spanish Grand Prix.

"Let me tell you this: I come from a not-great place in Stevenage and lived on a couch in my dad's apartment – and Nico grew up in Monaco with jets and hotels and boats and all these kind of things – so the hunger is different," Hamilton, the 2008 title winner, explained during an interview with the official Formula 1 website.

"I want to be the hungriest guy in the cockpit from all 22 of us - even if every driver has to believe that he's the hungriest – because if I were to come here believing that Nico is hungrier than me then I might as well go home. So I've got to be the hungriest – to win the world championship you need to be the hungriest."

Despite suggestions of their on track battles leading to off track problems as the season develops, Hamilton says his relationship with Rosberg, who he partnered during his early karting days, will always be respectful.

"When you're so competitive it is impossible to be best friends – but then it stays respectful," Hamilton went on to explain. "We will always have the years in karting, that kind of foundation of a long time ago…"

And, it looks like Damon Hill is in on it, too:

wrote:">Hill reckons Hamilton has 'another gear'

18 May 2014 – Damon Hill believes that Lewis Hamilton has "another gear" to step up to during the 2014 season, despite the Mercedes driver's impressive run of four race victories that has put him in charge of the title battle.

Since retiring from the season opener in Australia, Hamilton has finished ahead of team-mate Nico Rosberg at every race, prompting 1996 title winner Hill to claim that his fellow Briton will be "almost impossible to beat".

"Up until this season, it always looked like Lewis's focus could go at any time," Hill, who claimed his sole Drivers' crown with Williams, told the BBC. "He now seems to have the demeanour of someone who is totally content.

He added: "I do wonder if he is just cruising. I think he has another gear. He is so focused on the job."

Hill reckons Rosberg could be too mentally scarred to bounce back from Hamilton's strong run.

"Nico had two opportunities to beat Lewis – in Bahrain (gap of 1.085 seconds) and Spain (gap of 0.636 seconds) – but he let them slip through his fingers," said Hill. "That might already be too much to recover from."

Sagi, my godfather always called me "The Wise One" because of the meaningful and stirring things I said that always caused people to listen (Lewis being no exception)…but then again, it could have been the collie weed talking (he smoked a lot)…emm, for medicinal purposes of course.

:hehe: He was a lovely man. :)

As for our Lewis and how qualifying turned out in Monaco, I liken it to what happens when you antagonize and corner a cobra snake, it may not end well for you. In the post quail interview, he was coiled. Wait for the strike!

Nico may live to regret that move.

He just may. And this really goes back to comments I made a few weeks ago about Lewis being too nice and cozy with Nico. I feel he, Lewis, left himself open to be taken advantage of and sure enough, here we are. The downside is, he's kicking himself for leaving that door open. The upside is, the picture is very clear to him now and he has all the tools to do something about it. I feel he is going to make a number of non-verbal statements over the coming 5 to 6 races. To your point, Nico will ultimately regret The Monaco Move.

Lewis is pretty certain from his demeaner that Nico did that deliberately. His answer? same answer Senna gave to Prost................

Lewis Hamilton says he will resolve tension with Mercedes Formula 1 team-mate Nico Rosberg in the same way that Ayrton Senna dealt with Alain Prost.

Hamilton refused to answer directly when asked if he felt Rosberg had deliberately gone off to prompt a yellow flag when they were fighting for Monaco Grand Prix pole position - a result that Rosberg secured following his Mirabeau incident.

But in an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live, Hamilton did admit: "I should have known that was going to happen" and replied "potentially" when asked if Rosberg had tried to spoil his pole shot.

Subsequently asked if he needed to sort out the issue with Rosberg, Hamilton compared their situation to Senna and Prost's explosive rivalry when McLaren team-mates.

"I don't know if Senna and Prost talked about it but I quite liked the way Senna dealt with that so I'll take a page out of his book," Hamilton replied.

Senna and Prost's relationship deteriorated after a dispute over a pre-race agreement at the 1989 San Marino Grand Prix.

The dispute rapidly escalated, with the pair colliding at Suzuka in both 1989 and 1990 when disputing world championships.

Prost had left for Ferrari by the time of the second clash, which Senna subsequently admitted had been deliberate.

Asked if felt Rosberg should apologise for the Monaco incident, Hamilton added: "Why does he have to apologise? He's on pole position."

Oh boy!!! Here we go!

So, if Lewis' response hinted at deliberately taking Nico out, great, but he will most likely incur a 5 or 10 place grid penalty for Canada…not so great. Lewis' best and most honorable thing to do here is either 1. rely on a (deserved) penalty handed down to Nico, moving Lewis up to P1 or 2. assuming no penalty, either beat Nico to turn one or at least get up alongside and force Nico to either back out or take Lewis out. Monaco will be a wash…both drivers maintaining their positions in the Championship and we're back to traditional race circuits where Lewis can do what Lewis does.
