Rain on Sunday! So we're set to see cars breaking down, marshals being semi-electrocuted and drivers running for their lives? What a show in store!

The above is dry sarcasm which might be offensive to some but completely unintended.

Better than most races of 2013 :P

I've just caught up with the BBC Radio 5 Live Season preview.

James Allen, Allan McNish and Jennie Gow predicted that about 9-12 cars would finish the race in Melbourne...

Can anyone clarify a supposed report from Sky TV quoting McLaren claiming they had "high consumption" from their Mercedes engine?

It could be the high drag rear suspension arms (or Merc didnt show them the economy engine mode yet :hehe: )

Good point on the drag generated by their rear suspension. I also read that Merc had tested it and found it produced too much drag for the df benefit.

I wonder if its possible that a team could get through all 5 engines in one weekend. Would that mean they start the first 5 races at the back of the grid?
What about cost, if a team does 5 engines, does the supplier provide more free? or is there a charge per unit

Lets assume there is a team that are a little stubborn about cooling requirements and are unable to make the compromise to aero, lets say that team blows an engine in each practice session and quali AND in the race, would this mean their engine bill could suddenly increase by a theoretical maximum factor of 20x (5 engines for each of the 20 race weekends)

Say Renault (for arguments sake) are the most expensive provider and charge 20 million euros per season for 5 engines, could this mean a team with a stubborn aero designer could be needing 400 million euros by year end

If every single human being in the world (7 billion) drank a fizzy drink that added 0.05 cents profit to the drinks maker that could be diverted to marketing, I reckon that would just about cover the bill
:rofl::rofl:

I'm glad the BBC has only got highlights, I don't have 3 hours to watch cars shuffle behind a safety car.

I'm busy all weekend, so I'll have to record the BBC Highlights and watch them in the evening. Keeping away from the sports headlines will be a bitch...
