Discuss the sport you love with other motorsport fans

Sagi and operaman, I hear you! This forum used to be fun and informative and had lots of posters who agreed to disagree in a friendly way. Most of them have gone elsewhere. I rarely post here because I felt I was bullied and basically worn down until I just gave up! What was my offence? I like Jenson Button. I also liked Lewis Hamilton and have said here many times that Lewis is faster than Jenson but that was not enough for the diehard Lewis fans. It seemed like I was the freaking Anti-Christ for having an opinion that differed from theirs.

I did a rage quit, which I think was funny because I didn't post much anyway and everytime I post again I get the same comment - I thought you had quit, feck me, I am rolling in the aisles with that comment. The whole F1 Forum has changed a lot recently. For me, anyone who says something that certain posters disagree with are ridiculed, picked apart, shat on, then picked apart again to be further ridiculed. I thought this was a forum where we could express our thoughts. If my thoughts conflicted with anothers then a short discussion would be ok, not a rant, not a demeaning put down, not trying to 'win' the discussion.

I don't really like Ferarri, I didn't like Alonso when he was with McLaren, I love Kimmi, I kinda like Alonso now, I like Jenson, I have always liked Nico, always liked Lotus, but McLaren have always been my team. I really, really liked Lewis then for reasons I will keep to myself I went off him as a person. I know he is a fantastic driver and should win many WDC's, so why are all his fans so defensive?

There is no real discussion or mix of fans here now and I find that sad. I love to see Spankyham posting, I know it will be something technical, MMRacer was run off the board, I liked his 'facts' but someone here couldn't just read the post and let it go he had to argue every freaking thing! Sagi, you have Kimmi in the red now, take care of him :) But we all know that Ferrari, Red Bull, Lotus, McLaren will only be fighting for 2nd in the WCC and 3rd in the WDC.

Interesting parts of the article operaman posted

Hamilton’s critics will say he is leaving for money but it is understood the offers on the table were similar. His basic Mercedes salary of around £15m — the same figure he is on at McLaren — will maintain his status as one of the grid’s top earners alongside Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso and possibly Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel.

More important than money — and Hamilton is known to be cautious with his finances — is his desire to improve on a return of one title in five completed seasons, a disappointing statistic for a driver who envisaged himself as a serial champion on his much-heralded arrival in Formula One.

The other governing factor was his desire for a championship-winning car. Whitmarsh always claimed that staying put represented the best chance of success, but the evidence for that assertion is patchy

news broke last month that he was considering a move away, after rumours of rifts with the team and regular mechanical problems.

And..... I am not sure of the point you are trying to make? He moved for a better car? I think he made a fine choice, still not getting the point you are trying to make

If only the people that love to argue with Hamilton fans would just read the posts and let it be. But no, they have to let their dislike posses them and type nasty snipe shots veiled with humor and threats of leaving yet never really leaving or dismissive comments that have no factual basis behind them or are so general that they conflate their opinion with facts and ask others to respect their view equally.

It's clear that there are people that love the guy, and people that hate the guy and hate his fan even more, but wait don't say something about my red team because how dare you? Or don't say something about my DUI driver because whatever the f@ck he says is hilariously funny.

Cut the crap out already people, stop accusing the fans of doing the same thing you're doing. ENOUGH, it's pathetic really. If you don't like it leave, I'm sick and tired of the double standards.

You also said, and I quote "I'm leaving and never posting here again!"

Well...what the heck are you doing back here? Again, a comeback post (far from the first!) just to whine and whinge and complain about the very place you can't stand. Well, get a :censored: LIFE, respect your own words and piss off, maybe?

Great news this morning, our http://lewishamilton.com/ project has been nominated for BT Sport Industry Group UK Digital Platform of the Year! #BTSIA

Great news Lewis. :hehe:

BOOYAH!!!

And now I'm going to claim how the Lewis Hamilton dot com web site gets more hits than the Mclaren dot com slash formula1 website so heads will explode. After all it's my opinion so it can't be wrong.

Maybe respect other forum members Hammer rather than tell them to get a life....

YES! and maybe just enjoy the diversity, because we all love the same sport if not the same team or driver. Although Luis is H.A.M!

How do I respect someone who has zero respect for their own promises/statements. :hehe:

Btw that was friendly advise....if I find myself coming back and stalking people I dislike and a place I think SUCKS, I really would need to shut off my pc and do something else more worthwhile, don't you think?

:clap::clap: well said!! I have time for everyone on this forum whether they like my driver/ team or not , right up to the point they start having a go at other posters because they don't share the same views. If you can't be accepting of diversity of opinion, if you can't separate point being made from poster making the point, perhaps this isn't the best forum for you, you may be better off on a fan site. Some of my good friends on here share my views, and some of my good friends on here have opposing views...all still friends and respecting of each other.
I find myself becoming angry.....and that's not something I like to be, when people who rarely post on this forum come on to criticise it and to attack others for the views they hold.

Personally, I don't have a problem with people not agreeing with me.
I do have a problem with the thinly veiled ridicule that is laced with "facts".

All I did, that seems to have started this last session, was ask what it was
that Hamilton fans knew about his "real" reason for leaving McLaren.
All I knew about was what I'd read on-line or seen in edited interviews.
Let's face it, any and all news that is reported has an angle.
Thus, I asked.
And, I asked respectfully, because I thought I'd gain some insight.

There was NO hidden agenda. There was NO looking for an argument.
I may be a Ferrari fan, I may be biased in their favour; but, that doesn't
mean I am not curious about other drivers on the grid.

Well it's easy to be misleading then with all those pics of "BLACK/WHITE" and claiming not to be one of those kind of 'thinkers', especially when hoping to learn more from others.

Curious fan: I'm interested in why Lewis left
Lewis fan: ultimately he had enough, being at the team wasn't working for him to win a WDC, he was open about this, his fans have known this for years
Curious fan: it can't have been only those reasons there was something hidden
Lewis fan: really? What like?
Curious fan: complex hidden reasons he is not sharing
Lewis fan: and these hidden reasons were a bigger factor than his stated ambition to win?
Curious fan: things are never black and white there is a secret other reason, I'm telling you that now.
Lewis fan: now we are curious, please tell us what this hidden thing could be or are you just saying he is lying without Proof?
Not so curios afterall fan: he left for the money, and I am sick of been ridiculed just because I don't share your views
:yikes:
