Discuss the sport you love with other motorsport fans

One is valued/rated 5 times the other

It's not quite five times.

If you look at the scoring system its mathematically impossible to end up with round numbers as each TP had to place each driver in order of race points, 25, 18, 15 etc

Therefore in this instance I reckon :duckie: will agree that although Lewis is mathematically 4.8 times better according to the TPs, in the interests of preserving the spirit of the rankings its more accurate to round up to 5x better.

I'm fuc*ing sick of that pathetic last line of defence for Button "outscored LH over 3 years" wtf. If they had any shame they'd not even look at this nugget since anyone following the sport knows the performance band between the two and how Hamilton lost almost a 100 points through sheer bad luck during the partnership. :wavey-finger:

does it upset you because

It upsets me because I'm well aware of the truth and that fans of the :duckie: aka haters of his ex-teammate repeat a meaningless statistic which doesn't represent the truth. And you KNOW this is the actual truth. :director:

Not all fans of Button are haters of Lewis, just so you know he's not the be all and end all of Formula 1.

He didnt say that all fans of :duckie: are haters, he said the ones who repeat the meaningless statistic are basically hating

We are still waiting for you to start a positive Button discussion on this thread

IMO beating his teammate on points over the three years they were paired has been his greatest achievement. :D

Urm...

and that fans of the :duckie: aka haters of his ex-teammate repeat a meaningless statistic which doesn't represent the truth.

That kind of implies ALL fans of Button are haters of Lewis. He didn't say some of Button's fans, or most of Button's fans he said fans of Button AKA Hamilton Haters... Meaning if you like button you are automatically a hater of Hamilton.

Button fans repeat meaningless statistics -> Button fans AKA haters of Lewis -> ALL Button fans are haters of Lewis.

I will try to start a positive thread one day, but It'll be a while before anyone else braves entering the lion pit for a positive debate.

Edit: Also considering both* Cookin' and Hammer don't like Button I find it rather hypocritical that you are complaining about circular arguments, considering the two of you alone have contributed 30% of all posts to this thread. And I can make an accurate guess at what most of these are about.

Well you should know about hating, given your record of targets. Let's see Ferrari, Alonso, Button, Whitmarsh.

Getting outqualified by a 1 year flop pay driver is actually a statistic that is listed as a metric by the FIA, whereas total points over 3 years is not

Maybe its this shameful distortion of greatness that caused the accountants at Mclaren to make this grave and immoral decision

Forget your FIA Metric :bs: . Points are what matter to teams, because points count towards the WCC and $$$$.

Well I don't like Button very much either.......not Button the man, I don't really know him, but Button the person I see in f1. I don't like the way he talks himself up at the expense of his teammates, I don't like the way he ingratiates himself in areas of the team that are weak or susceptible and I don't like the way he talks above his ability. BUT if that's what he has to do to get on in his chosen career, and he's successful at it, then good luck to him...and poor show to the people who allow it to happen. And I feel sorry for Button supporters because I'm mean to Button, and I hate it when people are mean to Lewis.

Points per season matey, unless you can show that Buttons points once were alone responsible for an extra WCC place :wavey:

Yup, it narrowly edges out scoring Reubens in the first half of 2009 in a 2 sec car

So when are you guys going to get over that after the 3 years together that 22 "Rubber Ducky" beat 44 "Droopy Drawers" on points. At the end of the day points win championships and not wins or fastest laps.

If Jens didn't smooch the boss and Lewis didn't get all the unreliability Jens wouldn't look like a duck he'd look like an egg.
