Yeah its just lovely. This thread has been locked 2 times now from just endless "Button is a slow duck and he ate my firstborn" comments. It's just an never ending circular Hamilton circle jerk from the same few people, instantly quashing any discussions unless it's about ducks.

They are still pissed that Button was able to beat him in 2011. If Button is that bad, what does it say about Hamilton that he was outpointed over 3 years in an equal car. :hehe:

It's sad arguments like that, that perpetuate the cycle. :hehe:

Perhaps you could show us the last positive discussion you initiated in this thread

I do try from time to time, but I've given up; I know exactly what will be in this thread and I now just started ignoring it when it pops back up to the most recent threads, only checking it very rarely to see if any real conversations have started.

EDIT: I searched "Jenson Button" in this thread and it came up with 570 results. I searched "Lewis Hamilton" and it told me that the phrase was too common to search....

So where's the 'time to time'?

And about the search function, so what? Is it the fault of members here that Hamilton is too common? What's your point here? :yikes:

He is saying the Lewis Hamilton is a term used more in the Jenson Button thread, more than Jenson Button is.

Yeah but is anyone to blame for that? If the convo diverts to Hamilton in the Button thread very often, Hamilton's name will be used. Maybe from now onwards Lemonade would propose we censor "he who shall not be named" whenever he is mentioned. :hehe:

Not at all, my point is this thread had descended into the same few people going around in circles about how much better Hamilton was than Button. And how Jenson is a man-avian.

If not for these 'few people', I assure you this thread would have descended below threads belonging to Suzy Wolff and Jules Bianchi. Especially since myownalias has gone AWOL.

There's no such thing as bad publicity. :hehe:

That's not your case, this is a positive contribution to the thread, button himself wants it circulated, have you ever contributed anything new to the button thread? Why don't you do so now

In the meantime here's Buttons own picture posted for his pr and followers, what do you think of it lemon?

What an astound feat of driving skills and sheer speed. To be so much faster that you LAP a driver in identical equipment. Out on track when the team couldnt interfere was where Lewis showed the difference between the 2 :drink::drink:

Thanks for that huge endorsement of how good Jenson actually was in 2012.

As you've pointed out, Lewis drove an excellent race and got 25 points for a well deserved win.

For the other 19 races that made up the 2012 season Jenson outscored Lewis by 23 points - quite an achievement (and in the same equipment!) :)

You've become quite a Button/McLaren fan there Spanky.

I have only one team, but I'm always happy to compliment and congratulate achievements by our opponents. And as this is the Jenson thread I add that he has plenty to point to in terms of success and achievement

He is indeed a WDC and no one can take that from him. Sometimes in life, it's about being in the right place at the right time.

That is a meaningless statistic in this context Spanky. We are talking about when both drivers did not have any mechanical or racing issues, i.e. a straight fight. Try adding up those points for the whole 3 years even.
I realise the more 'extreme' Lewis fans can be unbearable at times with their fanaticism, but at least we are always factually correct.
But we welcome fans of other drivers who are brave enough to try and prove Jenson is even almost as good as Lewis.

here is the context for that sub debate and the seemingly outlandish suggestion that it was an astounding feat of driving prowess - to LAP a WDC in identical cars in normal racing conditions.
during the 2012 season Lewis lapped Jenson in normal conditions with both cars having no mechanical failure. I cant remember which race, but I remember someone mentioned that it was possibly the first time in F1 history that a WDC driver had been lapped by a teammate in normal conditions, with both cars suffering no mechanical or racing issues.

even Seb didnt manage to lap Webber once under normal conditions
