They have a heap of work to do. But FIAT were losing money big time. Since they took a controlling interest in Chrysler that company has turned things around big time and the US market, at the same time has really gone ahead. FIAT's ultimate goal is to turn FIAT-Chrysler into a global manufacturer. But, being a profitable car company in the US is huge in itself.

As I mentioned, Chrysler has a massive cash reserve which the new company can now use to invest in production facilities and making their plants really top line. Combined they have a reasonable range of cars and, I think they will launch a revamped Alfa as a globally targeted car.

A lot of work to do, but really a job well done so far and the company is in a good position now to improve even more.

Can FIAT come and save Holden now?

Wouldn't it have to be the Valiant :)

LM would do well in an online F1 forum. :hehe:
ESPNF1"Kimi will be extremely busy since the beginning of January to work in this strange machine that I don't like at all, the simulator," Montezemolo said. "It's a joke. We have been forced to invest a huge amount of money in this terrible, artificial, machine instead of being allowed to test here (at Fiorano) and at Mugello."

More power to FIAT, Chrysler was the dog of the UAW industry, making sub par cars even by the standards of GM if that's possible. They have a large following of Mopar customers but their general portfolio of cars is crap. FIAT have been hurgely successful with their 500 here the last couple of years and I'd love to see them bring in more Euro centric cars but the second car they bring in is of course the 500L which is the one they probably felt would do best in the American SUV mentality.

I hope the bad habits of Chrysler don't rub off on FIAT the way they rubbed off with their previous (disastrous) Daimler Benz venture.

Daimler allowed too much independence and left the Chrysler management structure near intact. They should have completely dominated and dismantled it

Hopefully Fiat learnt from that, and of course the unions and politicians who put pride before profits

I loved the little fiat 500, my friend had a yellow one. But the last fiat 500 I saw was HUGE!! same thing happening with the mini. What's that all about? There's enough huge cars, we still need little cute ones!!

Huge, that's funny as they are considered very small here in Canada.

It is not as if they where his last team. Just goes to show some team supporters are more emotional while others are just sterile
