Got to take my hat off to Red Bull yet again - getting to run 4 cars at the tire test in Bahrain is a very good result for them.

How much would fedex charge to post a car over?

£13,670.65 - If you are posting from McLaren. And it'll arrive Sunday 15th...

Of course - much cheaper than 1st class ticket.

Funny how a tire test is no big deal now but was a blatant circumvention of the rules mid season.

I'm guessing that's a rhetorical comment!! :wavey:

Interesting article by Eurosports Will Grey on what McLaren need to do to bounce back next year. Or at least start bouncing back ready for 2015.

http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/will-gray/tech-talk-mclaren-bounce-back-disaster-114045958.html

Last but not least, teams will need massive input from their drivers in the early development stages of F1’s new era – and this is an area where McLaren could struggle.
Jenson Button has plenty of experience in developing cars, but some insiders suggest his feedback is not as in-depth as his rivals. Rookie Kevin Magnussen, meanwhile, will be more focused on learning the ropes than providing development direction.

On the flip side, while it was a gamble to bring in Magnussen over a more experienced driver, if there’s any year that it could work, 2014 is it.
Driving requirements for the new cars are expected to be so different to what F1 has had before that all the drivers will be learning the ropes, at least in the early stages.
So if Magnussen does truly have the raw talent to perform in F1, his lack of experience should matter less than it would in any other year.

He mentions insiders, insiders at the team? If so cant be Whitmarsh who said he was peerless, so what is going on here? Is this signs of Ron vs Whitmarsh? We heard recently that Whitmarsh overruled the team committee and signed Sergio instead of Hulk last year. Possibly because Sergio was thought to be complimentary to Button

Has a TP ever been so blinded by love?

Penny finally dropping at McLaren re button? Bit of closing stable gate after horse has bolted going on?

If not with Whitmarsh ( that'll never happen), at least being recognised elsewhere.

How long did that take? Should have been on our forum McLaren people! We could have saved you money, heartache, top personel loss and points loss..............................for a small fee :P
